South Carolina’s new Nike era is already getting a proper Gamecocks introduction.
Dawn Staley recently shared a special Nike A’Two PE made in South Carolina colors, giving fans an early look at how the school’s Nike partnership could show up on the basketball side. The pair also connects directly back to A’ja Wilson, one of the greatest players in program history and the athlete behind Nike’s newest women’s basketball signature line.
The exclusive pair comes dressed in a bold red patent leather upper with a metallic finish. Nike gave the shoes an asymmetrical setup, with the left shoe using white accents and the right shoe switching to black. Gamecocks branding appears on the tongues, making the South Carolina connection impossible to miss.
Staley also spoke about what the Nike partnership means for the school, pointing to her own long history as a Nike athlete and the impact the brand can have across South Carolina athletics. She also mentioned Wilson’s importance to the program, saying only good things have happened when the Gamecocks have partnered with A’ja.
The Nike A’Two South Carolina PE was made exclusively for Dawn Staley. That means this special Gamecocks colorway is not expected to release to the public.
