Michael Rider introduced CELINE’s first official sneaker partnership during the house’s Spring/Summer 2027 menswear show in Paris. Instead of starting with one of Reebok’s better-known retro runners, CELINE chose the Freestyle, a model with a much different place in the brand’s history.
Three colorways were shown on the runway. The low-cut shape stays close to the original, though the upper has been cleaned up by removing much of Reebok’s usual branding, including the side Vector logo.
It’s covered in lambskin leather, helping give the Freestyle a softer and more upscale vibe than you might expect from a sneaker so connected to athleticism. You’ll notice Reebok’ archival Classic logo on co-branded tongue labels, but overall the design is kept fairly minimal.
The pairs worn during the show looked used rather than fresh out of the box. Scuffs, creasing, and dirt marks were visible across the leather, but that may have been done only for the runway. Clean pairs were reportedly presented to buyers, so the final retail version could arrive without the pre-worn treatment.
Reebok launched the Freestyle in 1982 during the rise of aerobics, and it became one of the first athletic shoes developed and marketed specifically for women. That background gives the collaboration a stronger point of view than a simple logo swap, even with CELINE moving the shoe well beyond its original purpose.
Six CELINE x Reebok Freestyle colorways are reportedly planned in total. The first pairs are expected to release in September 2026, with more arriving throughout 2027. Pricing and retailer information have not been announced.
