Ye’s brand YEEZY ended 2025 with a pair of their new YEEZY BL-01 sneaker released on Christmas Day. Continuing the recent direction toward more accessible pricing, after an early look at the silhouette in January 2025, the shoe has now arrived at its price of $80. The early design look of the YEEZY BL-01 suggest that Ye’s interest in maintaining affordability continues even as he wants to maintain design value.
The YEEZY BL-01 is a flat, slip-on sneaker that takes clear inspiration from the running shoe designs of the 1980s and 1990s. The relatively low profile silhouette is good for daily wear and the lack of laces results in a much cleaner, more utilitarian design overall. Foam midsoles are standard for relaxed comfort and the all-round rubber outsole is good for everyday rotation.
Materials used are pared-back, and simple as you would expect. Synthetic fabrics are the base of the upper, rather than any higher-end leather materials, to keep the shoe light and affordable. As a result, the YEEZY BL-01 is more in line with the aesthetics of older lifestyle running sneakers, rather than performance-focused shoes, which also has the potential to hold appeal due to the no-nonsense design.
The sneaker is launching in an all-black colorway for now, though it’s likely that the range of the YEEZY BL-01 will expand into new colorways if the response is positive, as YEEZY has made its reputation on over time.
The YEEZY BL-01 is now available to purchase for $80 at YEEZY.com with an estimated delivery window of six to thirteen weeks.
