Victor Solomon revisited his “Trophies” series this summer with a darker group of releases, moving away from the lighter pairs shown during NBA All-Star Weekend. The black Nike Air Foamposite One is one of the more detailed shoes from the new set, mixing an ornate printed shell with the gold hardware that has become a regular part of Solomon’s work.

The molded upper is covered in a dense black-and-white paisley pattern that wraps around the shoe from the toe through the heel. Black tumbled leather fills in the eyestay area, with the tongue, collar, lining, and outsole following the same dark setup. There is already plenty happening across the shell, so the rest of the colorway stays fairly restrained.

Most of the gold appears around the lacing system. One setup uses thick chain laces, while the included black laces come with metallic tips and a gold dubrae. Smaller gold touches can also be found on the Swoosh, heel embroidery, and the hanging side pieces. The chain option is clearly the showpiece, but the standard laces make the Foamposite look much easier to wear.
