Travis Scott is drawing attention at the Virgil Abloh: The Codes exhibit in Paris. The late designer is being honored at the Grand Palais in the style explorer’s hometown. The exhibit chronicles Abloh’s story with Pyrex, Off-White, and Nike and even includes a recreation of the Colette store in Paris where Parisian sneakerheads used to gather.
Scott, who is known as Jordan Brand’s most impactful collaborator, showed up in an all-black ensemble complete with layered chains and adornments. But the true showstopper was what he had on his feet: a never-before-seen pair of Jordan Jumpman Jack “Triple Black” edition.
Subtle details on this sneaker include the use of suede, nubuck and canvas on the upper while a strap across the midfoot features Scott’s custom logo design. The monochromatic color palette is somewhat ominous in tone, not unlike some of the darker periods of the artist’s work. Of course, that nugget of info is just enough to have sneakerheads picking at every thread looking for a retail opportunity.
There has been no confirmation on a release of the Travis Scott x Jordan Jumpman Jack “Triple Black”. They could stay as a friends-and-family exclusive, or pop up as a limited drop at some point.
