Nike and Tom Sachs have officially revived their collaboration with a restock of the General Purpose Shoe in “Light Cream” (Studio), marking the partnership’s first release in over two years. Following controversy surrounding Sachs’ workplace environment, Nike had distanced itself from the artist, leading many to believe that the NikeCraft project had ended indefinitely. However, in September 2024, Nike confirmed the collaboration’s return, with this restock acting as the first step toward a broader reintroduction. A new Mars Yard 3.0 is also expected in 2025, adding further excitement to the comeback.
The Tom Sachs x Nike General Purpose Shoe remains true to its original 2022 design, featuring a durable mesh and suede upper, white Swoosh branding, and a blue heel tab for contrast. Its gum midsole sits atop a black waffle outsole, ensuring both durability and everyday wearability. As Sachs once described, this sneaker was created to be a “boring shoe for extraordinary people,” emphasizing function over hype.
Retailing for $109.99, the 2025 restock maintains the same price as its original release, making it an accessible option for those who missed out before. Pairs are available now exclusively at store.tomsachs.com, while a wider release remains uncertain.
