Introducing Todd Snyder‘s inaugural mainline sneaker: “The Tuscan Court Shoe.” This limited-edition classic style fuses vintage basketball and tennis influences with Italian artistry and bespoke details. Todd, known for fruitful collaborations with brands like New Balance, Vans, and Converse, steps into designing his own sneakers.
“Teaming with New Balance and Converse taught me sneaker design intricacies. Launching my line felt like a natural progression, blending Italian mastery with NYC flair,” Todd shares. He merged iconic 70s court silhouettes seen at West 4th Street’s The Cage and Forest Hills’ courts with lavish Italian leathers, birthing a refined court sneaker.
Realizing Todd’s vision involved GEM Srl, famed Tuscan shoemakers renowned for their manual craftsmanship. This timeless design boasts plush suede uppers, Vachetta leather touches, and sleek outlines. Versatile, it complements light denim, tees, chinos, or button-downs. Details encompass toe-box brogue stitching, a suede “mudguard” for added shielding, atop a cork footbed and EVA cup sole. A nod to sophistication, the sneakers come with cotton shoe bags akin to benchmade shoes. Priced at $498 USD, they are offered in Biscotti Cream and Grigio Gray.
“The Tuscan Court Shoe illustrates my luxury footwear expansion. The 2022 debut, ‘The Nomad Boot,’ and recent Italian sandals and Spanish espadrilles showcased my commitment,” Todd emphasizes. The decision to unveil his court shoe was logical, given high demand for prior styles and collaborations. “Our shoe isn’t just any; it embodies quality and fit. Todd Snyder becomes the modern gentleman’s ultimate destination,” he concludes.
