adidas and West NYC are paying tribute to an NYC institution with the Tip Top Shoes 85th Anniversary Collection. This two-piece footwear drop blends old-school charm with future-ready style while celebrating Tip Top Shoes’ long-standing legacy in Manhattan.

Leading the release is the adidas SL 72 RS, a refined take on the classic runner. This version features a rich burgundy suede upper with wingtip-style detailing. Perforated cream leather stripes and a yellowed midsole offer a vintage touch, inspired by Tip Top’s sit-and-fit service tradition.

Next is the bold Handball Spezial, which takes cues from West NYC’s street-savvy roots. It features a textured pink bouclé knit upper with vibrant splashes of purple and red. Gold “West Side” and “Best Side” embroidery on the heels highlight the shop’s Upper West Side pride.

To celebrate the launch, adidas and West NYC are hosting a special event on April 24, featuring a live DJ set from Nina Sky. Even better, part of the proceeds will go to the Two Ten Foundation, a nonprofit helping footwear workers.

Release Date & Where To Buy

Both sneakers will officially release on April 26, 2025, in-store and online at West NYC and Tip Top Shoes. The SL 72 RS is priced at $120, while the Handball Spezial retails for $130.
