Time is scarce in fall. The days are shorter, school and work commitments are longer and the busy holiday season is right around the corner.

Fitting a workout in can be a challenge, even for the most dedicated athletes.

Skylar Diggins is one such athlete who understands how busy life can be. The professional basketball player is constantly on the move as she bounces from city to city to handle her on-and-off-the-court commitments.

In October, Diggins will introduce a new workout to the Nike+ Training Club App intended to help athletes squeeze in some training, even on those days when time is tight. Diggins’ Zoom in 5 Workout is the N+TC App’s first five-minute workout. It is designed to put athletes through a highly intense workout that demands close to maximum effort for a short burst of time.

“Anaerobic exercise like this helps build strength and endurance,” says Geralyn Coopersmith, Nike’s Global Director of Performance and Fitness Training. “But working out at a high level of intensity isn’t possible for long stretches. The five-minute length of this workout helps the athlete train efficiently and get results in a limited period of time.”

Diggins’ Zoom in 5 Workout requires a high level of stamina and is recommended for athletes who are more advanced in their training. The workout features six drills, including mountain climbers, lateral bounds and side shuffle to burpees. Each drill reflects the type of training Diggins does to stay in shape for basketball season.

“High intensity training is definitely my favorite type of off-the-court training,” Diggins says. “I get twice the results in half the time.”

Diggins’ Zoom in 5 Workout will launch on the N+TC App on Oct. 1. Users will also be able to shop her training look, which includes the new Nike Zoom Fit Agility, on nike.com.
