Shake James is back working with adidas Originals after already releasing the Samba “414 Day” and Forum Low “What The Milwaukee” this year. For his next project, he’s using the Adistar XLG 2.0 for a two-pair “Wild Rivals” pack inspired by the mandrill and African rock python.

The idea behind the collection comes from the mandrill and African rock python, with each animal shaping the colors and materials used on its own pair. The larger build of the XLG 2.0 also fits the theme, which centers around animals known for their size and ability to survive in the wild.

The mandrill-inspired colorway uses blue gradient mesh with red shaggy suede overlays, pulling directly from the bright blue and red coloring seen on the animal. The second pair is based on the African rock python and comes covered in yellow and black snakeskin-patterned mesh. Clear panels appear around the toe and heel as a reference to a snake shedding its skin.

Both pairs also come with collectible field cards that include information about each animal, including its habitat, diet, and behavior.

The Shake x adidas Adistar XLG 2.0 “Wild Rivals” Pack is expected to release during Holiday 2026.
