UPDATE 2/9/26: Salehe Bembury has confirmed that his New Balance 992 “Calm Be The Crater” will release February 12, 2026 at 9AM PST / 12PM EST on salehebembury.com, inspired by the landscaping and deep blue waters of Oregon’s Crater Lake.

Salehe Bembury makes his first impression on the New Balance 992 and second on a Made in USA effort. If his 990v2 from 2022 leaned heavy on texture, earth derived color, and depth, the same is the case here. The timing also couldn’t be more perfect, given that the 992 keeps resurfacing as part of New Balance’s overall heritage initiative.

This marks Salehe Bembury’s first take on the New Balance 992 and only his second Made in USA project. Following his 990v2 from 2022, the approach again prioritizes texture, earth-driven color, and depth. The timing feels deliberate, especially as the 992 continues resurfacing under New Balance’s broader heritage push.

A vivid blue mesh base anchors the upper, layered with green leather panels and wrapped in thick, hairy suede overlays. Grey suede adds contrast along the mudguard, while cork insoles and exposed branding details reinforce Bembury’s material-first philosophy. The palette stays expressive but controlled, avoiding excess despite its complexity.

Compared to recent 992 collaborations, this version feels more tactile and less polished by design. That decision adds character to the shoe, continuing with Bembury’s long-running series of outdoor textures reimagined for daily life.
