Good for the mountains. Great for the oceans. Transforming pollution into performance, the new adidas Terrex Free Hiker Parley combines signature Boost technology with Parley Ocean Plastic yarn – a material made from upcycled waste plastic intercepted from shorelines and found around coastal areas.
Created for lasting comfort in the mountains and commutes across the city, the Terrex Free Hiker Parley allows outdoor creators to effortlessly step between urban and natural landscapes without leaving a trace.
“We believe that through sport, we have the power to change lives and our latest shoe in the TERREX collection does just that.” says Tim Janaway, General Manager, adidas Outdoor. “The TERREX Free Hiker Parley represents both sustainability and performance, empowering you to get outside and challenge yourself, without challenging the environment.”
The Free Hiker is the first hiking boot with Boost technology that offers endless energy-return cushioning and adaptability on rocky surfaces, built to survive the toughest elements. Its water repellent Primeknit upper made with Parley ocean plastic provides sock-like comfort, stretching and flexing naturally to all shapes of foot. Weighing only 400g (men’s) and 340g (women’s), it is breathable and lightweight, while protection is provided by a mid-cut profile and Continental rubber outsole for grip on any terrain.
