Air Max Day 2022 will be celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Air Max 1. For the occasion, Nike will be releasing plenty of special releases including this “Wabi-Sabi” Air Max 1.

This offering of the Nike Air Max 1 pays homage to the traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi, which is centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. Dressed in earthy tones, it comes constructed in a canvas base with suede overlays. Other details includes “cracked” graphics on the midsoles and exposed stitching atop Gum rubber outsole. Paying homage to its 35th Anniversary, “XXXV” is stitched onto the lateral heel as well as stamped on the insoles with “3.26” tongue tag celebrating Air Max Day. Finishing off the design are Swoosh smiley on the heels, interchangeable tongue tags housed in special packaging.

To go along with the “Paisley” Dunk Lows, it looks like Nike SB has also produced their own Nike SB Dunk Low “Paisley” colorway that could be releasing in 2022.

Inspired by 70s tees, this Nike SB Dunk Low features the paisley print covering its entire tear-away upper dressed in a mix of Pink, Green, and Burgundy Brown hues with White suede underneath. White Swooshes on the sides with matching tongue and heel branding atop a White midsole and Gum rubber outsole completes the design.

Ghostbusters Reebok Ghost Smasher Ectoplasm GX1648 Release Date

To celebrate the DVD launch of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Reebok and Sony Pictures announce the release of a special edition Ghost Smasher “Ectoplasm”. This launch follows two Reebok x Ghostbusters collections, the first launched on Halloween 2020 and the second released during October 2021.

This offering of the Reebok Ghost Smasher features a glow in the dark iteration of the detachable proton pack, glow in the dark tongue detailing and a more distressed treatment on the upper. Similarly to the first Ghost Smasher, named after the film’s original title before it was officially released as Ghostbusters, the “Ectoplasm” reflects a 1980s lab design look.

Christian Tresser’s iconic design, the Air Max 97, is currently celebrating its 25th Anniversary. For the occasion, Nike will be releasing new renditions of the silhouette.

Nike Dunk High Up “Setsubun” Releases March 16th

To go along with the Nike Dunk Low, Nike will be releasing a “Setsubun” edition of the women’s Dunk High Up silhouette.

For this release, the Dunk High Up nods to Japanese mythology, the Seven Lucky Gods or Seven Gods of Fortune who are believed to grant good luck and are often represented in netsuke and in artworks.

It features a Sail suede base with Orange hairy suede overlays paired with a Purple leather Swoosh and a Gold mini embroidered Swoosh. Other details includes the same “demon” motif on the Dunk Low appearing on the lateral heel atop a White rubber sole with semi-translucent trim. Highlighting the shoe is its insoles that features another piece of artwork from the late Edo. This time it’s Kuniyoshi Utagawa’s depiction of Japan’s Seven Lucky Gods (Ebisu, Hotei, Benzaiten, Bishamonten, Daikokuten, Jurōjin, and Fukurokuju).
