Nike is taking a very different route with the Kobe 4 Protro “Draft Day” Pack, turning Kobe Bryant’s 1996 draft story into a blind-box release built around the teams that passed on him. Instead of revisiting the familiar Charlotte Hornets-inspired look, the collection expands the idea across all 13 lottery teams from that year, with one final pair honoring the franchise that ultimately became Kobe’s home.

Each of the first 13 colorways arrives with a mostly white wear-away upper that slowly reveals team colors underneath through use. The design speaks to Kobe’s rise from draft-night uncertainty to one of basketball’s defining careers, while stitched Swooshes, matching sockliners, and numbered lottery-ball graphics help separate each version. One pair references the Philadelphia 76ers with red and blue accents for the No. 1 overall pick, while other editions follow the remaining lottery order from 1996.

A fourteenth pair stands apart from the rest of the Kobe 4 Protro “Draft Pack” with a fully revealed purple and gold finish. The colorway represents the Lakers, the team that landed Kobe after the draft-day trade and helped shape one of the greatest careers in NBA history. Its bold look also gives the pack a clear centerpiece beyond the mystery element.

Nike will package the release as a blind-box drop, meaning buyers will not know which colorway they receive until the box is opened.

For many of us sneakerheads, our love for sneakers started because of our mothers. Without their hard work and sacrifices, a lot of us would not have had the chance to fall in love with the sneaker game the way we did. Chances are, many of us had our moms buy us our first fresh pair of kicks, so make sure today is spent showing them some extra love.

My Story: My mom raised three boys on her own while working two jobs and putting in more than 60 hours a week. No matter the circumstances, she always found a way to make sure I could get a new pair of Air Jordans when they released. My first pair was the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement”, and if it were not for my mom buying me that first pair of Js, I may never have developed the love I have for sneakers today. More importantly, I would not be the man I am now without her.

The Air Jordan 11 “DMP” remains one of the most recognizable takes on Michael Jordan’s championship silhouette. First released in 2006 as part of the two-shoe Defining Moments Pack with the Air Jordan 6, the colorway returned in 2023 under a new name, the Air Jordan 11 “Gratitude”.

Inspired by the original “Concord,” the 2023 version kept the familiar white and black layout while introducing several updates. Jordan Brand replaced the original mesh upper with premium tumbled leather, added a higher patent leather cut, and used a revised tongue label. Metallic gold branding appears on the lateral Jumpman, tongue strip, and heel details, connecting the pair back to its DMP roots.

The 2006 release celebrated Michael Jordan’s first championship and first title after returning from retirement, which helped make the Defining Moments Pack one of the most memorable Jordan releases of its era. Nearly two decades later, the “Gratitude” brought the look back as a standalone launch rather than part of a pack, giving a new generation a chance to own the classic colorway.

The Air Jordan 11 “Gratitude” officially released on December 9, 2023, and remains the most recent retail version of the DMP-inspired design. Pairs can still be found through resale platforms such as StockX for those looking to add the updated release to their collection.

Nike is pushing back against speculation surrounding the future of SNKRS after recent internal changes raised questions about the platform’s direction. The brand confirmed that its Nike App and SNKRS engineering teams have been combined into one unified group based at Nike’s Philip H. Knight campus in Oregon.

SNKRS remains one of Nike’s most important digital platforms, even as the sneaker market continues to shift. The app helped reshape modern release culture through Draw launches, Shock Drops, exclusive access, and storytelling-driven product rollouts. However, today’s market looks different from the peak resale era, with more releases sitting longer and consumers becoming more selective.

Recent conversations around SNKRS gained more attention after reports of staffing changes and online discussion from former team members. That uncertainty also followed Nike’s decision to wind down .SWOOSH, its web3 and digital collectibles platform, adding to questions about how Nike plans to evolve its digital business.

Nike’s official statement makes clear that SNKRS is not going away. Instead, the company says the platform will continue as a key part of its digital marketplace strategy, now supported by a combined team working across the Nike App, SNKRS, Nike.com, and Nike By You.

Future plans for SNKRS include curated launches, regular product assortments, stronger storytelling, improved shopping tools, and deeper ties to in-person events. Nike also said the new structure is designed to reduce handoffs, improve efficiency, and create a smoother consumer experience.

SNKRS appears to be entering a new phase rather than reaching an endpoint. The platform may no longer operate in the same market conditions that made every major release feel impossible to get, but Nike’s statement shows the company still sees SNKRS as central to its future.

J Balvin’s all-black Air Jordan 1 surfaced during a private birthday celebration for his 41st birthday, giving fans a rare look at an unreleased version of his 2020 collaboration. The J Balvin Air Jordan 1 “Black” was made exclusively for Friends and Family, with only 100 pairs created.

The pair keeps the same bold design language from the original rainbow-colored J Balvin Air Jordan 1 while shifting the look into a darker, stealthier direction. Black canvas covers most of the upper, while leather appears on the Swoosh, ankle collar, and overlay areas. The jagged cut-out edges also return across the toe, heel, collar, and Swoosh, keeping Balvin’s signature playful approach intact.

Bright heel patches break up the tonal black design with a pop of color. One shoe features Balvin’s lightning-eye smiley face logo on a yellow circular badge, while the other includes a Jumpman logo in pink. The pair also features an OMERTA badge, tying the design to Balvin and Ryan Castro’s album rollout.

PJ Tucker’s run as one of basketball’s most respected sneaker collectors is moving into its next chapter with a limited Nike GT Future collaboration. Created with his Houston-based shop, The Better Generation, the project gives Tucker another rare Nike release tied directly to his personal sneaker story.

The PJ Tucker x Nike GT Future arrives in a bold pink gradient finish across its molded upper. Soft purple and silvery-blue hits appear near the base, while the sculpted design gives the shoe a futuristic feel. A holographic-style Swoosh covered with his number 17 adds extra shine across the side panels.

Personal details make this pair stand out beyond the colorway. Tucker’s PJ17 logo appears on the left insole, while The Better Generation branding lands on the right. The inner tongues include his signature and numbered detailing, confirming the pair is limited to only 2,000 units.

Tucker previously connected with Nike through an ultra-limited Air Flight 89 Low release for The Better Generation. That 2024 project was capped at just 472 pairs, making this GT Future another collector-focused drop from the longtime NBA sneaker king.

After being confirmed for a return late last year, the Air Jordan 13 “Flint” has finally emerged through a first set of retailer images ahead of its August 2026 release. The latest look shows the classic color blocking intact, bringing back the familiar mix of Navy, Flint Grey, White, and University Blue that has made this colorway one of the most beloved Air Jordan 13 styles.

Originally introduced in 1998 during the Air Jordan 13s first run, the “Flint” colorway quickly became a standout thanks to its different approach to Bulls-era Jordan styling. Instead of leaning on Chicago-inspired colors, the pair combined reflective navy mesh, Flint Grey suede, and crisp white leather for a cleaner look with strong late-’90s energy.
