Kyrie Irving Officially A Sneaker Free Agent

In the wake of the controversy surrounding his social-media post about a book and movie containing antisemitic ideas, Nike has decided to suspend its contract with Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving.

Nike also said they will no longer release Irving’s latest shoe, the Kyrie 8.

“At Nike, we believe there is no place for hate speech and we condemn any form of antisemitism,” Nike said in a prepared statement. “We are deeply saddened and disappointed by the situation and its impact on everyone.”

Irving, who is 30, has had a contract with Nike since 2014.

UPDATE 12/5: After first signing with the brand back in 2011, Kyrie Irving and Nike have officially parted ways, making him a sneaker free agent, per Shams Charania.

Marvel x Bape Stas Releasing December 11th

Marvel BAPE Sta Spider-Man Venom Doctor Strange Release Date Price

Back in 2005, Marvel and Bape teamed up to release a collection of Bape Stas based on our favorite Marvel superheroes. For 2022, the two are set to release a new collection.

The lineup includes six different colorways of the Bape Sta based on Avengers such as Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, and Thor – which were used on the 2005 collection, along with newcomers Black Window and Rocket Raccoon.

Each shoe features patent leather uppers with their respective character on the lateral heel of the left shoe, while the Marvel logo appears on the heel of the right shoe. They’ll also come with special packaging.

UPDATE 12/5: The latest Marvel x BAPE STA Pack, which includes the Spider-Man, Venom, and Doctor Strange colorways, will release on Saturday, December 11th at Bape retailers and online.

UPDATE 11/18: Following the six colorways that released in August, Bape confirms that there are three more Marvel x Bape Sta colorways launching this month inspired by Spider-Man, Venom, and Doctor Strange. The shoes will release on November 25th exclusively at Tokyo’s Comic-Con.

Mountain Research x Reebok LX2200 Nods To ‘80s Sporting Ephemera

Reebok and Japanese fashion label Mountain Research have unveiled the next piece from their growing line of collaborative releases.

Reebok’s new LX2200 takes queues from its most heralded ‘80s running models. In particular, the silhouette remolds the brand’s LX8500 luxe runner from 1985, offering a modern interpretation through contemporary construction and elevated materials. For FW22, Mountain Research furthers their story alongside Reebok via the retro running sneaker:

“While the LX2200 remains an orthodox running shoe, the details are evolutionarily modern,” commented Mountain Research designer Setsumasa Kobayashi. “Old and new coexist in harmony on the shoe – this is what piqued our curiosity for LX2200.”

Mountain Research’s archival take on the classic runner arrives with a White full-grain leather upper and Burgundy color blocking seated atop a Pure Grey rubber outsole.

“The design is inspired by 1980’s sports films,” detailed Kobayashi. “Traditional all-White sports uniforms link seamlessly with LX2200’s authentic running aesthetic, to which we’ve simply added a neo-classic twist.”

Look for the Mountain Research x Reebok LX2200 to release on December 9th exclusively from Mountain Research before its wider global launch on December 16th at select retailers and Reebok.com. The retail price tag is set at $130 USD.

The sequel to the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT, the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT 2, will be joining the “Year of the Rabbit” celebration for Chinese New Year.

Dressed in a similar blocking as the “YOTR” Jordan Legacy 312. This offering of the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 comes constructed in a mix of leather, suede, and mesh materials, but unlike the Legacy 312, this release doesn’t seem to feature any rabbit logos for the occasion. Signature cut-out Swooshes on the sides, “Zoom Air” tongue branding atop a newly equipped Formula 23 foam cushioning underneath completes the design.

Both the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 5 “Ice Blue” and DJ Khaled x Air Jordan 5 “Crimson Bliss” are two popular collaborative colorways of Michael Jordan’s fifth signature shoe.

The Trophy Room x Air Jordan 5 released back in May 2019, and was limited to 7,000 individually numbered pairs. It was inspired by the trophy room in the Jordan family home. Some of the key details includes the number “23” on the right shoe and “5” on the left, the jersey numbers of Michael Jordan and his son Marcus. A translucent outsole revealing woodgrain modeled after the flooring in Jordan’s trophy room completes the design.

The DJ Khaled x Air Jordan 5 made its debut on Cyber Monday, November 28th as part of his “We The Best” collection. Some of the key details includes “We The Best” branded heels and insoles, “Keep Going” labels behind the tongues atop a translucent outsole with both the Jumpman and “We The Best” branding.

As a follow up to their Dunk High collab back in 2020, Slam Jam and Nike are teaming up once again to release two collaborative colorways of the Air Force 1.

One comes dressed in “Black” and the other in a clean “White” makeup.
