These SHAI 001 sneakers are wrapped in a puffed, molded upper that screams future-meets-luxury. And yes, there’s a zipper—because Shai doesn’t tie laces, he zips into greatness.

Under the hood, you’ll find a Nike Zoom Air unit in the forefoot, offering bounce for quick moves. The radial outsole grips the court like your crush gripped your heart in middle school—tight and with purpose.

Shai’s personal logo pops from the tongue, while Converse branding chills subtly on the heel. The entire look feels more fashion week than warm-up line—and we’re here for it.

UPDATE 9/5/25: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Converse SHAI 001 “Charm Black” releases October 2nd for $130 USD on Converse.com.

Original Story 5/5/25:
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander isn’t just breaking ankles—he’s breaking necks with his sleek Converse SHAI 001 Charm Black. Inspired by his mom, Charmaine (yes, the drip is family-approved), this sneaker screams stealth and style.

The SHAI 001 “Charm Black” features a no-sew upper that looks smoother than your pickup lines. Crafted with neoprene and TPU paneling, it’s dipped in head-to-toe black. The plush midfoot and collar are puffier than a TikTok puffer jacket.

Covering the laces is a zipper shroud that adds spy-level secrecy and partially hides Shai’s hand-drawn logo on the tongue. The embroidery? A subtle dark grey flex. The name “Charm Black” doesn’t just sound cool—it’s a shoutout to Shai’s mom, which makes it cooler.

Branding is minimal but meaningful. You’ll find Converse’s chevron on the heel and a low-key Air Zoom logo on the toe. Performance-wise, this shoe isn’t just about looking good. It packs a full-length foam midsole and an Air Zoom unit, ready for game time—or flex time.

Named after his brother Thomasi, the “Masi Blue” honors his cool demeanor and clutch presence. It follows earlier colorways like “Hail Clay” for his wife and “Ares Grey” for his son. Each colorway tells a personal story—yes, this man is building a family album with sneakers.

Jalen Hurts Debuts Air Jordan 11 “Love Hurts” Cleats For 2025 NFL Season Opener

Jalen Hurts steps out in the brand new Air Jordan 11 “Love Hurts” Cleats to open the 2025 NFL season in Lincoln Financial Field.

The four-time Pro Bowl selection and 2023 Super Bowl MVP unveiled a vivid Player Exclusive rendition of the Air Jordan 11 TD Cleats. Constructed in slick black patent leather, the pair were then stamped with a poignant inscription across the tongue stripe: “Love Hurts” in big red script along with the Jumpman logo. The subliminal personalization is what gave Hurts’ cleats a buzz, as sneakerheads followed his every step.

The Jordan Brand has always created Player Exclusives for its signature athletes, and Hurts has quickly established himself as one of the Jumpman’s leading figures on the field. From a story perspective, his 11s are one more example of how performance and design can work in perfect harmony. We’ve come to expect that from a Jordan sneaker.

With the entire season of football to play, expect plenty more exclusive pairs from Hurts as the year progresses.

Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Year of the Snake” Mamba League Invitational Exclusive

The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Year of the Snake” is an exclusive that was gifted to the winners of the third annual Mamba League Invitational.

Every year Kobe Bryant’s birthday and Mamba Day are celebrated with love and appreciation for all that he gave to basketball. The Mamba League has evolved into more than a competition to win. It’s a way to pay tribute to Kobe and Gigi and their love of the game. This year’s invitational ended with the winners being gifted with a surprise they won’t forget from Nike and Vanessa Bryant.

As a prize for taking the championship title, the winners were gifted a highly-exclusive Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Year of the Snake.” This elegant variation of Kobe’s fifth signature is presented in a deep crimson red upper with a more richly textured green snake graphic that is stitched across the Swoosh. Other design elements include a speckled midsole, Mamba League custom embroidered across the tongue, and signature at the heel. This will be one of the most significant Kobe releases of all time.

In an alternative approach to last year’s general retail drop, this pair of the Kobe 5 Protro will not be receiving a follow-up release. Outside of retros, the Kobe 3 Low Protro was recently unveiled as the next chapter in Bryant’s storied sneaker history.

The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Year of the Snake” is a wonderful gesture to represent Kobe’s undying memory of being alive in every player that goes hard for that Mamba mentality. Though this unique iteration will not be receiving a retail release, it’s an appropriate encapsulation of his everlasting spirit and how it will always remain intertwined with Gigi and the game of basketball.

Air Jordan 6 “Black & White” Unreleased Samples Revealed

Air Jordan 6 samples are always in high demand, but these newly discovered 1-of-1s are on another level.

Instead of test pairs that are typically manufactured to tweak materials and colorways, these two were made at request, making them even rarer. Recently resurfaced in Portland’s Index consignment shop, the pair features two different takes on the classic 1991 silhouette.

On one, the premium black nubuck upper is paired with white Jumpman branding while the other is the exact opposite; it features a clean white leather upper, black midsole and black Jumpman details. Both feature translucent outsoles with a hidden white outsole hidden underneath.

Stamped to 2012, the samples resurfaced during a period of time when the AJ6 was nonexistent. The only retail editions released in 2012 were the “Olympic” and “Golden Moments” colorways. No other AJ6 colorways were released until 2014, making these pair of requested samples ultra-exclusive.

Jordan Brand is sure to be dropping new and original colorways in time for the Air Jordan 6’s 35th Anniversary in 2026, but for now these 1-of-1 samples show us that some sneakers will always be unattainable grails.

These 2012 Air Jordan 6 “Black & White” Samples are not on retail release schedule.

Jason Williams’ Nike Zoom Hyperflight “Varsity Purple” PE Expected Spring 2026

The Nike Zoom Hyperflight “Varsity Purple” will soon reintroduce one of Nike’s earliest—and wildest—designs. Hyperflights were originally released in 2001, and helped kick off Nike Basketball’s future-forward, seamless era. The original featured a wraparound sole, a sock-like silhouette, and an almost helmet-like upper, and was amped up by Jason Williams.

Nike Zoom Hyperflight PE Jason Williams Sacramento Kings colorway
Jason Williams’ Nike Zoom Hyperflight PE in Varsity Purple pays tribute to his Sacramento Kings era, combining bold design with early-2000s sneaker culture.

The Sacramento Kings guard, known as “White Chocolate” for his flashy demeanor and fearless playstyle, originally swooped down in a Hyperflight Player Exclusive during his time with the team. That PE featured purple mirror-finish uppers, and has since developed cult status among sneakerheads and fans of early 2000s Nikes. It remains to be seen whether or not the retail model will be a direct copy of the player edition (fans are hoping for subtle touches like “JWILL” stitched on the heel or his No. 55 on the tongue), but that’s just the kind of story that makes retro drops work.

The Hyperflight’s comeback also plays into Nike Basketball’s present. The G.T. Future, a high-performance model that launches Holiday 2025, is essentially a Hyperflight on steroids. The shared silhouette, which is engineered for aerodynamics, shows how Nike has mined its Y2K basketball archive in service of its current performance line. Hyperflights have never been quite as retro heavyweights as, say, the Foamposite One. But a Hyperflight original still has major fans, and this highly anticipated drop should satisfy them.

Original Story 8/13/25:

Nike Air Max DN Roam Comes Winter Ready

Arriving for Fall, the Nike Air Max DN Roam is a winterized update to the silhouette first seen this year.

The DN Roam carries over the futuristic aesthetic and Dynamic Air cushioning but this update for the colder months features utilitarian touches.

The headlining update is the protective zip-up shroud. It provides a streamlined look while also protecting the foot from the elements. Abrasion resistant textiles and multi-layered overlays improve durability, while pull tabs and toggle closures allow for easy adjustments. That fusion of fashion and function helps the DN Roam stand out from standard releases.

Supporting that is the Dynamic Air cushioning system returns underfoot with responsive performance and high visual impact. Leading the drop are three colorways: an all-Black version, a Black and Cargo Khaki combination, and a College Gray pair accented with Volt and aqua pops.
