Jordan Brand Celebrates World Basketball Festival

With World Basketball Festival 2012 ramping up, Jordan Brand is dropping JORDAN SUPER.FLY and AIR JORDAN 1 RETRO City Packs “Road to the Gold” for the stops in Las Vegas, Washington, D.C. and Barcelona.

The “Las Vegas” colorways takes their cue from the attire worn by famous performers of Las Vegas’ early days who wore black jackets with satin linings, crisp white shirts and red ties. The JORDAN SUPER.FLY and the AIR JORDAN 1 RETRO HIGH “Las Vegas” will be available on Saturday, July 7.

“Dress blues” were the inspiration for the “D.C.” colorways, mimicking the uniform and medals of a decorated officer. The JORDAN SUPER.FLY and AIR JORDAN 1 RETRO HIGH “D.C.” will be available on Saturday, July 14, when World Basketball Festival 2012 makes it stop in Washington, D.C.

World Basketball Festival 2012 will conclude its tour in Barcelona, paying tribute to one of the best teams in sports history. The JORDAN SUPER.FLY and AIR JORDAN 1 KO HI ‘Barcelona’ were inspired by a famous painting of a Spanish bullfighter and will be available on Saturday, July 21.

adidas To Retro The Dikembe Mutombo PE?

Dikembe Mutombo was a blocking machine, yeah a lot of people may remember him getting dunked on my Michael Jordan and waving that finger side-to-side at him. Now looking back as his career, adidas is thinking of potentially returning the Retro Mutombo, which are what a lot of brands are doing this year. Recently, on their Facebook page adidas stated, “Basketball players wore these in the early 90’s. What do you think of them? #adidas“! Would you welcome a Retro Mutombo? We recently talked about the Air Jordan 6/11 Defining Moments Pack, and now we bring our attention to the Air Jordan 11/12 Countdown Pack. Although the Air Jordan 11 “Bred” are confirmed to release this Holiday Season, wouldn’t it be nice to see them release along side of the Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” (Which is still rumored to release)? Both pairs are iconic to the Jordan Brand line, and with so many releases already being released this year, why not give everyone what they really want with the return of the Air Jordan 11/12 Countdown Pack?

The Air Jordan 11/12 Countdown Pack originally released on December 2008 retailed for $310. Did you happen to cop your pack during the ’08 season?
