Nike Basketball is bringing back another one of Vince Carter’s most iconic sneakers as the Nike Shox BB4 “Olympic” is returning for Summer 2026. The Shox BB4 is, of course, where a lot of basketball fans first fell in love with the sneaker when Carter debuted it in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. The dunk over 7’2” Frédéric Weis is one of the most indelible images from those games, and has made the Shox BB4 an icon in its own right.

Eric Avar is responsible for the futuristic and silvery design of the BB4. Its most defining and innovative feature was the cushioning system, Shox. It also had spring-loaded pillars, which gave a jumping power to Carter and became iconic for that moment. The upcoming 2026 release will be arrive in White, Midnight Navy, and Metallic Silver color blocking, and will look almost identical to the retro that released in 2019.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Shox BB4 in 2025, not to mention Nike just commemorating Carter’s HOF induction, this return is long overdue but timely nonetheless. Personally, this drop still has that edge sneakerheads always look for, a marriage of performance tech and culture storytelling.
