Release Report: What’s Dropping This Weekend

While a bit of a quiet weekend – which is probably much needed, there are still some standout releases that will be available.

Nike Basketball’s Flip the Switch Collection really got things started this weekend, along with a “Pure Money” inspired Air Jordan XXX1 Low.

Heading into Saturday, Pharrell and adidas Originals are officially set to unveil their newest adidas Tennis Hu shoe in two colorways. Jordan Brand will also be debuting another “Metallic” Air Jordan 1 dressed in Red/White.

Continuing on Monday, the Nike Air Zoom LWP returns in Midnight Navy, while NikeLab is dropping four Air Max Plus color options.

The Original Nike Air Vortex Returns

While Nike Sportswear has already debuted their 2017-version of the Nike Air Vortex, we now take a look at three upcoming colorways inspired by the OG ’80s runner.

Not so high-tech as the Nike Air Vortex 17, the original-styled version will come constructed with a mix of nylon and suede throughout the upper with 3M Reflective hits seen above the Air cushioned sole.

The perfect shoe for everyday wear, the Nike Air Vortex will come dressed in three OG-inspired colorways that consists of Red/White, Navy/White and Black/Grey.

Look for all three pairs of the Nike Air Vortex 2017 Retro to release later this month at select Nike Sportswear retailers and Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $90 USD.

NikeLab City Knife 3 Flyknit Release Date

Originally inspired by the foldable design of a paper bag, the first Nike City Knife shoe, released in 2002, had similarly foldable creases for flattened packability. Before it came the Pocket Knife, from 1998, a collapsible ACG shoe embraced by outdoor athletes.

Today, the new NikeLab City Knife 3 Flyknit draws from the versatility of both models, providing a breathable, sock-like fit through a one-piece, 360 Flyknit upper that’s encapsulated in a translucent rubber outsole (sharp lines on the outsole reference the geometry of the original). A rubber strap keeps the foot locked down. The shoe’s minimal design — made of only five pieces without any stitching — enables it to flatten easily.

If we were in Oz, the Tin Man would appreciate these. Nike Sportswear has quietly debuted an all-new Nike Mayfly release in a “Wolf Grey” colorway just in time for the summer months.

Fully dressed in a shinning Wolf Grey upper, the shoe features a textile build with a padded collar, perforated side panel and taped Nike Swoosh logos in White. Tonal flat cotton laces and a White foam midsole completes the settle look.

Built for a smooth stride and second-skin fit, NikeLab debuts a premium version of the LunarEpic Flyknit for the summer. This release comes dressed in a mix of Golden Beige, Mineral Gold, Dark Mushroom and Black color scheme.

Featuring a Flyknit upper and integrated Flywire cables designed to act like a natural extension of the leg, built for more strength and support. The cushioning is constructed with a fused foam midsole, targeted Lunarlon pods and a pressure mapped outsole.

Paying tribute to New Balance’s Cumbria, UK factory, they decided to drop an official New Balance Cumbrian Flag Pack that consists of the New Balance CT300, New Balance 770, and the New Balance 1500 silhouettes.

Each model is constructed with a mix of premium leather, suede and textiles dressed in White, Royal Blue and Green color combinations. Completing the theme, New Balance added the Cumbrian flag on each tongue and insole graphic.

Sneakersnstuff and adidas Originals have teamed up to release their exclusive adidas NMD R1 Primeknit Datamosh Pack. The pack consists of two loud colorways of the adidas NMD with wild graphics on each of their Primeknit uppers.

Inspired by datamoshing, a process of manipulating the data of media files in order to achieve visual or auditory effects when the files is decoded. Both pairs come constructed with a graphic Primeknit upper sitting atop a full-length White Boost sole.

Big Baller Brand Unveils Lonzo Ball’s First Signature Shoe That Costs $495

Lonzo Ball and Big Baller Brand have officially unveiled his signature shoe, the Lonzo Ball ZO2 basketball shoe. This makes Lonzo Ball to become the first player to have his own independently made signature shoe that will take part of the NBA Draft.

Officially called, the ZO2 Prime, which takes a page from adidas with its knock-off Boost midsole. The ZO2 Prime will retail for $495 USD, while prices increases to $695 for men’s sizes 14 and 15. A special edition autograph pair by Lonzo Ball called, the ZO2 Wet with a special box and LED lights are currently available for pre-order on the Big Baller website for $995 USD.

According to Big Baller Brand, there plan is to have Lonzo’s signature shoe be a more higher-end performance sneaker, something different from the likes of Nike, Jordan Brand, adidas and Under Armour.

The shoes aren’t scheduled to ship until November 24th, 2017. To go along with the shoes, there are also Big Baller Brand ZO2 Slides available for $220 USD.

Nike Basketball unveils the Nike KD 9 Elite Racer Pink for Kevin Durant’s postseason run to becoming a champion. While we wait for the Nike KD 10 to be officially introduced, there are still more Nike KD 9 Elite colorways set to release.

adidas Running has officially unveiled the adidas Pure Boost DPR – an innovation engineered to take runners closer to the city streets. The latest adidas Pure Boost innovation delivers an immersive urban running experience.

“All over the world, runners are exploring cities and expressing their own creativity in the routes they choose and the challenges they take on,” said Stephan Schneider, product manager at adidas Global Running. “We wanted to build something purely designed for this type of runner, and loved the idea of creating a more adaptive running experience. This led us to design an 8mm heel-to-offset, that when paired with signature BOOST technology allows the feet to sit lower, deeper, and much closer to the streets.”

Built with a one-piece engineered circular knit upper with a heel counter designed to enhance the support to the foot and the Achilles. A wider forefoot provides more stability, while sitting atop a Boost cushioned sole and stretchweb outsole.
