Nike Sues Edison Chen For $126K Over Alleged Contract Breach

UPDATE 8/12/25: Nike sues Edison Chen for $126,615.68, correcting an earlier report of $126 million. Nike claims the amount is for delivered product that was never paid for. According to the filing, Chen personally guaranteed the debt, but neither he nor Juice has made payment since Nike’s demand in November 2024. The suit seeks the balance plus interest, fees, and costs.

Original Story 8/12/25:
Nike has filed a lawsuit against Edison Chen in the United States District Court of California Central District. The cause is 28: 1332 Diversity–Breach of Contract with a judgment sum of $126,615,000.

The lawsuit is filed directly against Chen, not against CLOT or his partnership with adidas. CLOT has been a long-time Nike and Jordan Brand collaborator, with Chen’s design efforts spearheading more than 30 CLOT x Nike drop since 2006. Most recent was a collection in 2023’s “What The Dunk,” where he released a re-design of the Air Force 1. In October 2023, Chen announced his transition to adidas as a new creative partner, going on to debut his first collection with the brand the following February.

Months passed with no public acknowledgement of contention from either party until Nike filed the case last month. The suit in no small part due to a contract disagreement, though nothing Chen has worked on for adidas has been seen to have design overlap with prior Nike x CLOT releases. This, along with Nike’s filing of an exclusive nine-figure amount, is a clear indicator of their seriousness of the dispute. Per official case filings from @SneakerLegal on X, the only information given is case #, cause, and judgement sum. No details have been released.

Nike vs. Edison Chen represents one of the more high-profile name changes of sneaker culture’s recent history. With both parties under a legal agreement, it’s possible the conflict may settle under the table. In the event that both parties do not reach a settlement, the trial will be closely monitored.

Updates will be provided as new documents and official statements are released.

UA Curry Series 7 “World Tour” Releases August 22nd

UPDATE 8/12/25: Under Armour and Curry Brand have announced the Curry Series 7, developed from Steph Curry’s concept of creating a basketball shoe with the same comfort as his 2023 prototype running shoe. Curry Series 7 will offer marathon-like cushioning and premium in-game support with a supercritical foam midsole, long-lasting UA Flow outsole and 3D-molded shank. The Curry Series 7 debut “World Tour” colorway will be available starting August 22nd for $160 through UA, Dick’s Sporting Goods and select retailers.

Original Story 8/5/25:
Stephen Curry’s name recognition has grown exponentially around the world off the court—and now on it—with the forthcoming Curry Series 7 “World Tour” sneaker. After drawing huge crowds at his previous stops throughout Asia, Under Armour and Curry Brand are delivering fans an exciting new drop that honors the international game.

This release is decked out in a royal purple base with turquoise, yellow, red, and pink accents that give it a feel of dynamism. The Curry Series 7 shares many hallmarks of a performance runner in its sculpted midsole, flared heel, propulsion plate and signature UA Flow outsole.

Despite the name “Series 7,” this sneaker is not part of a linear lineup. Instead, the name is an ode to the excitement of a 7-game NBA playoff series. However, the silhouette does pick up on certain elements from the original Curry 7, like the overall shape and plate placement.

Its outsole features aggressive patterning and a refined silhouette that call back to Under Armour’s legacy of performance-driven innovations, including the Curry Flow 2, while also projecting the silhouette forward. This sneaker is versatile from the hardwood to the runway.

The Curry Series 7 “World Tour” will be available August 22, 2025 on UnderArmour.com and at select global retailers for $160 USD.

Jay Chou Teases PHANTACI x Nike Air Max 95 Collab

Taiwanese pop superstar Jay Chou is teaming up once again with Nike and his PHANTACI label, this time on the Jay Chou PHANTACI x Nike Air Max 95. The musician is no stranger to fashioning sneakers with themes that pay homage to his music, and for this collaboration, he turned to guitars as the muse for the design.

From the first images, there is an attachable PHANTACI guitar pick necklace on a gold chain, a pearloid Jay Chou tongue logo, and tortoiseshell accents that are familiar to any guitar enthusiast. Additional features on the shoe include multi-layered grey leather parts with gradient effects and a textured mesh covering for contrast. The heel tab also has gold “PHANTACI” lettering for the finishing touch.

The PHANTACI x Nike Air Max 95 continues on the path set by Chou’s most recent “Grand Piano” Air Max 1 by fusing together a variety of musical elements with high-end kicks. The Air Max 95 was selected as the base model, partly for its signature latticework on the sides and partly for the model’s history of being a staple in sportswear and streetwear culture.

Nike has not officially set a release date for the Jay Chou PHANTACI x Nike Air Max 95, but it could be hitting some select retail partners and possibly Nike SNKRS later this year.

Deion Sanders Reveals Nike Diamond Turf Proto 92 Samples

As the Colorado Buffaloes prepare for a 2025 season with new starting quarterback Kaidon Salter, Deion Sanders has been making headlines for something other than football. With Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter in the NFL, it’s time to turn our focus towards the antics of “Prime Time” away from the game, including these four unreleased Nike Air Diamond Turf Proto 92 samples.

Gifted to Sanders for his birthday, the collection debuted during a team meeting and was later showcased in his office alongside Deion Sanders Jr. Each pair highlights a different chapter of Sanders’ style and legacy. The silhouettes include a classic black, white, and gold matching the team’s colors; a vibrant yellow suede; a clean white and red throwback nodding to his time with the San Francisco 49ers and their team color, including glossy patent leather overlays; and a loud purple and pink colorway that Sanders said would “look good on Cam’ron.”

The Nike Air Diamond Turf Proto 92 originally debuted in the early ’90s as a cross-training sneaker built for Sanders’ dual-sport dominance in the NFL and MLB. Known for its midfoot strap, layered paneling, and bold branding, the model became a staple in both sports and streetwear circles.

No official retail release or launch date has been confirmed from Nike for the prototypes, but expect more out of this collection as it renews nostalgia for the famed Air Diamond Turf Proto 92.
