The traditional midfoot strap, perforated toe box and sculpted ridged heel remain the same as the Air Yeezy 2. Additional features include hieroglyph-like graphics down the strap, glow-in-the-dark outsoles and “Heavy Metal/Anaconda” labeling. These details are a testament to just how experimental Nike were with this silhouette.
The glow of the outsole directly references the heritage of the original Yeezy 2. You can still spot them down the street. For me, this sample may have even trumped “Pure Platinum” when it comes to instant aesthetic. That metallic, sci-fi finish is so far ahead of its time.
