ANTA KAI 2 “Klay” Honors Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson’s Bond

Kyrie Irving is starting the 2025-26 NBA season with a special tribute to teammate Klay Thompson. His latest signature model, the ANTA KAI 2 “Klay”, celebrates their connection on and off the court.

Irving and Thompson both entered the NBA in the 2011 Draft, and have had careers studded with championships, buzzer beaters, and All-Star appearances. After years of competing against one another, they now play together for the Dallas Mavericks, and are working on chemistry. This chemistry is based on mutual respect, history, and championship experiences. This sneaker acknowledges and represents that relationship, with a few symbolic flourishes included.

The “Klay” colorway is an interpretation of Thompson as air, and Irving as water. The upper has a mix of swirling blue tones with contrasting pops of bold gold embroidery. Green accents are also incorporated. Zigzag motifs reference the energy of the elements, while the use of various textiles bring structure as well as style. ANTA branding and personalized design elements emphasize the union of the two stars. These details help to distinguish this pair from previous colorways.

Function is still foremost. The KAI 2 is fitted with ANTA’s Nitroedge cushioning, which provides a responsive energy return, while the outsole has a grippy compound and is designed to accommodate sharp cuts. While it may have significant storytelling elements that will appeal to fans, its design on the court is what will have Kyrie and Klay counting on it during important Mavericks matchups.

The ANTA KAI 2 “Klay” releases September 26, 2025, priced at $125 USD. Pairs will be available at ANTA.com, Foot Locker, and DICK’S Sporting Goods.

Travis Scott x Jordan Jumpman Jack Early Prototype Revealed

Travis Scott’s Jordan Jumpman Jack continues to reveal new layers of its design story. Recently, a rare Travis Scott Jordan Jumpman Jack Prototype has surfaced, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how the model evolved before its official debut in late 2023.

Unlike the retail version, which blended skate, basketball, and training elements with a distinctive midfoot strap, this early prototype takes a different approach. The sample skips the strap altogether and instead borrows tooling closer to the Jordan 1 or Nike Dunk. Its slim forefoot and padded ankle collar even recall hints of the Air Jordan 14.

Material changes also distance the prototype from the official model. Where the final product uses rugged canvas, the sample comes in a velour-like cloth with a pebbled texture down the heel. Here a stitched Jumpman patch forms a visual counterpoint. Dark Mocha suede overlays also link it thematically to certain of Travis’s previous collaborations, but the crisp paneling gives the shoe a more angular and exploratory feel.

Looking at this unreleased version, it’s clear why Jordan Brand refined the design. The official Jumpman Jack struck a more wearable balance while keeping Travis’s signature rebellious touch intact. Still, prototypes like this show the creative risks that happen before sneakers ever reach shelves.

With images of this unseen pair circulating, excitement naturally shifts to what’s next: Travis Scott’s Fragment Jordan 1 Low, set to launch in November 2025.

Nike KD 18 “Aunt Pearl” Releases October 2025

UPDATE 9/23/25: The Nike KD 18 “Aunt Pearl” releases October 7, 2025 for $170. Proceeds benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Check out the official photos below.

Original Story 7/28/25:
Nike Basketball’s longest-running signature collection pays homage to a loved one once more with the Nike KD 18 “Aunt Pearl”. Durant’s personal tribute series started with the KD 4 back in 2014, named in honor of his Aunt Pearl, who died from lung cancer in the year 2000. The latest colorway in the series, set to release in Fall 2025, celebrates her with a vibrant floral treatment and a subdued color scheme.

The KD 18 “Aunt Pearl” is rendered in shades of pink, Pearl Pink, Laser Fuchsia, Tulip Pink, and Pink Foam with Glacier Blue accents. The most striking detail is the floral pattern popping across the lace eyelets and midfoot overlay. The same rose print is used down inside on the inner lining as well, with textural and visual detail.

The KD tongue logo and heel Swoosh are colored in a shade of coconut milk, and the midsole is pink speckled and has a semi-translucent outsole. The mesh paneling and airy construction keep the sneaker breathable and workable on the court while still making a statement off of it.

As is the case with each and every “Aunt Pearl” release, this colorway is also a homage to cancer and cancer sufferers everywhere. The line is special because of the memories and sentiment it brings back for KD, but it’s also become so much more. The “Aunt Pearl” series is a reminder to the basketball fans of the world that KD’s collection is more than just sneakers. It’s about family, memory, and love.

The Nike KD 18 “Aunt Pearl” drops October 7, 2025 at select Nike Basketball retailers and Nike.com.

Max Air cushioning remains true to the classic with visible units in the heel and forefoot. The performance-inspired outsole pattern is finished with retro grid graphics. A ring zipper, mini embroidered Swooshes and layering pull tabs round out the aggressive design.

The Freak series has been showcasing performance technology since Giannis’ debut model in 2019, mirroring his ascent from Athens to NBA stardom.

The new “Black/Metallic Gold” colorway features a sleek black mesh upper with gold accents that pop. The standout reverse Swoosh is dressed in shimmering metallic tones, and Giannis’ logo adds a personal touch. The Cushlon 3.0 midsole provides underfoot support for quick bursts of speed, while the gum outsole offers traction with its distinct patterns.

This drop stands out for its understated luxury. The black and gold combination exudes a timeless elegance, giving it a higher off-court appeal compared to some louder iterations. It’s a savvy move from Nike, appealing to both style and performance.

Nike Air Max Sunder Comes In A Gradient “Cave Stone”

Nike is poised to take things seasonal with this Air Max Sunder for Fall 2025

The upper on this silhouette is the usual Sunder zippered shroud over a sock-like inner. This houses brown accents on the zipper, piping, and plastic mudguard. Contrast sails of off-white Sail make the boot’s midsole, lining, and insoles.

Light Bone TPR pods peeking through the darker overlays of this sneaker offer a bit of contrast. The outsole keeps things balanced on the foot with a split of Sail and brown as well.

The range of textures and tones this one’s got in particular for colder temps in the rotation. That zip-up design has been around long enough to warrant some vintage vibes.

The Nike Air Max Sunder “Cave Stone/Sail” is releasing Fall 2025 retailing for $180 via Nike.com and select retailers.

Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Goes Dark Mode In “Off-Noir/Cave Purple”

The Nike Air Zoom Spiridon is making a comeback in Fall 2025 with a new design direction.

Off-Noir is the primary color for the mesh base and tongue, while the shoe’s iconic textured leather mudguard is swapped out with a more robust canvas option. It’s a small change that updates the Spiridon while still retaining its late ’90s edge.

Toe-boxes are also clad with suede Swoosh logos in place of the usual metallic silver finish for the line. Details like the reflective piping and eyelets carry over from past colorways to keep a signature element of the Spiridon’s DNA intact. White for the midsole offsets the upper for a crisp contrast, while the brown gum outsole unifies the entire package with a lifestyle-ready finish.

Retailing at $170 USD, the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon “Off-Noir/Cave Purple” will launch Fall 2025 via Nike.com and select retailers.

Mixing heritage references with modern material updates, the sneaker should work for both collectors and everyday users.

City Jeans x adidas Gazelle “Diamond in the Rough” Celebrates Bronx Resilience

City Jeans and adidas have partnered on a new project that centers on the Bronx. The adidas Gazelle “Diamond in the Rough” celebrates the determination and talent cultivated from struggle.

The limited-release Gazelle dons a black tear-away nylon upper that is suspended over a powder blue suede base layer. The juxtaposition of the two materials speak to an exterior toughness hiding beauty and ingenuity waiting to be uncovered. The use of reflective Three Stripes and a diamond-patterned tongue brings more visual depth to the overall narrative. It’s one of the most well-conceived Gazelle collaborations in recent years.

This means a lot for a brand like City Jeans, which has long been an institution in the Bronx since the 1990s. COO Ben Winrauke called it a “love letter” to the borough’s community that fuels them every day. Head Buyer Eric Canals also attributed the project to his own experiences growing up in the Bronx. He stated it shows “diamonds shining through struggle.” This personal connection makes the sneaker a statement, not just a product.

The “Diamond in the Rough” moniker, on the other hand, is meant to shine a light on people who emerge from seemingly invisible places to make an impact on culture, sports, and music. Dave East is one such Bronx-native emcee, so the sneaker’s intent resonates on an even deeper level. That’s a detail that will be well-received by sneakerheads and locals alike.

The City Jeans x adidas Gazelle “Diamond in the Rough” releases soon for $130. Pairs will be available exclusively at City Jeans locations across New York and online at cityjeans.com.

Toy Story’s Lotso Appears On The Crocs Classic Clog

Toy Story’s Lotso makes a cozy return through a playful Crocs Collaboration.

The Clog is covered in plush fur, starting with its Croslite™ base. The bear’s face is on the toe, printed with Lotso’s signature 3D ears and bulbous eyes. The fur strap is also purple-pink, and embroidered strawberries reference his strawberry-scented background from Toy Story 3. There’s a certain storytelling layer on this clog that sets it apart from the usual character collab.

For what it’s worth, past Crocs x Disney collabs weren’t all cuddly. This time, Crocs went all in on creating something warm and fuzzy (literally), but that also won’t skimp on playfulness. Sneakerheads will find this pair a bit more nostalgic and practical for daily wear, as well as collector-friendly for fans, than previous Disney x Crocs sneakers.

The Lotso x Crocs Classic Clog will drop September 23, 2025, for $90 at Crocs.com and some retailers.

Under Armour Curry Series 7 “Cotton Candy” Releases September 26th

The Under Armour Curry Series 7 “Cotton Candy” is here, and it’s packed with pastel colors and playful graphics.

The sneaker’s midsole transitions from speckled blue at the heel to electric pink as it approaches the midfoot, embodying the fuzzy sweet treat’s look. Bold orange toes, zig-zag green graphics, and a light blue mesh upper help keep the energy high. Inside, a purple lining and metallic silver overlays finish the fiery look.

Where this shoe really delivers, though, is on the court. Borrowing from recent running “super shoe” designs, the Curry Series 7 has a Pebax midfoot plate for stability and Under Armour’s UA Flow cushioning for speed and comfort. Hoopers have already declared this the most powerful Curry shoe to date. This futuristic sneaker doesn’t sacrifice performance to do it.

Sneak Around The Court In The Nike KD 18 “Triple Black”

Nike’s KD 18 “Triple Black” returns Durant’s signature series in a modern, stealth-inspired look.

Decked head-to-toe in black, the upper features layered mesh and hardy overlays along with reflective TPU ribs that wrap the foot and act as lace support. It’s a nod to previous all-black KD iterations with an updated aggressive edge.

KD’s signature logo in metallic silver on the tongue, reflective Swooshes on the heel, and the “EASY” badge that references Durant’s “Easy Money Sniper” nickname are the details sneakerheads will spot first. Underfoot, a wavy traction pattern and Air Zoom cushioning provide responsiveness for players who crave control.

This iteration is a callback to the hard-nosed aesthetic of classic hoop sneakers. This sneaker shows that blacked-out colorways always have game. Whether worn on the court or as a street-style favorite, this sneaker checks both those boxes.

The Nike KD 18 “Triple Black” drops Fall 2025 for $155 on Nike.com and select retailers.

Nike Air Max 1 “Phantom/Sanded Purple” Returns With OG Style

The Nike Air Max 1 “Phantom/Sanded Purple” is an updated take on Tinker Hatfield’s seminal 1987 silhouette.

The latest Air Max 1 release is part of Nike’s steady rollout of new colorways, offering up understated contrasts with a daring touch. Phantom suede overlays contrast with white mesh upper while Sanded Purple accents appear on the Swoosh, mudguard and heel branding.

That combination also nods to the sneaker’s history of blending function with fashion. Visible in the midfoot, the Air unit was a first-of-its-kind unit when it debuted and remains comfortable. It also flaunts its heritage. The outsole, meanwhile, meshes black, white and purple in a classic take on Air Max DNA with a seasonally updated twist.

Nike fans will also take note of how the color palette’s more muted tones give the purple a chance to shine while not being too overbearing. That versatility also lends this drop a more casual feel for streetwear and sneaker collector alike.
