Air Jordan 1 Low “Somos Eternos” Celebrates Día de Muerto

UPDATE 10/3/25: After the Air Jordan 4 reveal, official photos of the Air Jordan 1 Low “Somos Eternos” arrive. Inspired by Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos), the pair is set to release in November 2025.

Original Story 9/5/25:
Jordan Brand pays homage to Día de Muerto with the Air Jordan 1 Low “Somos Eternos” edition. The Air Jordan 1 Low continues the collaboration’s theme of honoring tradition.

The Day of the Dead is a somber holiday, but it’s also a celebration of the people we’ve lost with color, joy, and a chance to remember what they meant to us. That’s exactly the vibe on display here with blue overlays accented with cream leather and pops of playful pink on the laces. A bright sun graphic is also displayed on the tongue for that extra glow up. The Swoosh has a more layered look thanks to a series of cut-out designs. It’s a subtle detail sneakerheads will no doubt geek out on.

The footwear also comes in “Somos Eternos” themed boxes that pack a similar punch. They also include a candle sticker as a modern-day offering. It’s cheeky and all in good fun, but it also does a nice job of letting people know sneakers are cool when they’re paying tribute to culture.

The Air Jordan 1 Low SE “Somos Eternos” debuts in Japan on September 8, 2025, with a broader release to come in the Día de Muerto period of late October and early November.

Jewell Loyd Gets Her Own Nike A’One “Sequence” PE

The Nike A’One “Sequence” PE is the latest in a line of player exclusives for Jewell Loyd. However, these sneakers have an even more meaningful layer for Loyd. She has consistently used sneakers as canvases for her life story, the people around her and her career journey.

This special edition colorway, a green and black upper with digital-inspired graphics, represents how Loyd sees and interprets words because of her dyslexia. The print pattern is meant to represent Loyd’s strength and connection to Nike A’One signature athlete A’ja Wilson, who has dyslexia as well. Their connection also shows how sneakers can be used to highlight empathy and power as much as they can highlight sports prowess.

Metallic Swooshes, bright coded text, and future-forward paneling give it shape. That vision is elevated to art with details that make it feel so personal it’s beyond future. It’s that intersection that makes great players exclusive. Nike has used this pair to remind fans that footwear can help connect performance and identity. It’s been able to create conversation that goes far beyond the hardwood.

The Nike A’One “Sequence” PE is not likely to see a public release, but it will stand tall culturally. For Loyd, it’s more than just a shoe. It’s a stage for her story.

Nike SB Dunk Low “Safari” Releases Holiday 2025

The Nike SB Dunk Low “Safari” is set to launch Holiday 2025, bringing one of Tinker Hatfield’s most popular designs back to life. The print was originally featured on the 1987 Air Safari, an Air Max-style cross-trainer that broke the mold with its furniture-inspired textures and daring style.

Nike SB previously tapped into that heritage during the Paris 2024 Olympics, dropping a Dunk Low with Safari cues. Now, this Friends and Family pair leans even closer to Hatfield’s original “Cobblestone/Black/Monarch” colorway, blending skateboarding functionality with a piece of Nike history. The combination of the two things make this drop feel much more than just another SB for collectors.

The standout feature is the Safari-print overlays across the forefoot, eyestays, and heel. Black nubuck underlays balance the design, while Monarch Orange suede at the toe box adds contrast. A light grey Swoosh cuts through the mid-panel, and Nike embroidery hits the heel tab in bright orange. Underfoot, a cream midsole with subtle aging effects sits atop a black outsole, offering durability and vintage character. Skaters also have the choice of black and orange extra laces to deck themselves out in.

Fans of Nike SB’s storied collabs will recognize this look as a continuation of the brand’s decades-old legacy: connecting skate culture to vintage Nike gear. It’s the kind of easter egg sneakerheads will spot, bridging the gap between eras of performance and style.

Air Jordan 4 SE “Somos Eternos” Celebrates 2025 Día de Muertos

The Air Jordan 4 SE “Somos Eternos” is joining Jordan Brand’s annual Día de Muertos collection in 2025. Celebrated all across Mexico and beyond, the holiday commemorates those who have passed away with customs such as ofrendas, marigolds, and colorful art. The sneaker channels that tradition with an elevated twist.

Available in a premium combination of Soft Pearl, Metallic Gold, Light Bone, and Jade Horizon, the duo nods to the intricate golden floral designs and decorative motifs often incorporated in Día de Muertos artwork. Decorative overlays of smooth leather, breathable mesh panels, and sculpted TPU wings maintain the classic silhouette of the Air Jordan 4, while stand-out details like gold tongue patches, insoles with a special “Somos Eternos” stamp, and a chain-accented Jumpman hangtag complete the design.

On the bottom, there’s a Jade Horizon midsole with fine speckling, accented with Sail and blue to contrast. The outsole is translucent to show off additional Jumpman branding and logos on every angle. The box also follows the theme of the sneaker, using “Somos Eternos” lettering and custom graphics for the packaging.

Every year, Día de Muertos collections from Jordan Brand get droptimes penciled into sneakerheads’ calendars with days to spare. Air Jordan 4 sets the bar even higher with its mastery of storytelling and craftsmanship. These kicks are sure to catch eyes for their intricate details and balance of streetwear flair and collectible design.

Brain Dead and adidas Serving Up Two Barricade 13 Colorways

Performance and streetwear are combined in one under the subversive aesthetic with the Brain Dead x adidas Barricade 13.

The Barricade silhouette has always been synonymous with performance on the court, and the latest iteration is no exception. The design features REPETITOR cushioning as well as an extended traction strip along the medial side of the upper that loops around and down for stability.

In two colorways, the Brain Dead styling subverts the design with bright and metallic twists. A silver and grey mesh colorway features chrome elements, brown laces, and pops of yellow to give the sneakers an unorthodox appearance while still maintaining its athletic essence. Burgundy and blue shaggy uppers make for a decidedly more vibrant look, playing with materials that has been appearing frequently in Brain Dead’s collections.

The release date for the adidas Barricade 13 from Brain Dead will be on October 6th and retail for $160. The sneakers will be available on adidas.com and at select retailers.

Nike Basketball Class of 2025 NIL Athletes Announced

Nike Basketball announced its Class of 2025 NIL Athletes on Thursday and revealed an exciting group that includes Aaliyah Chavez, Brandon McCoy, and Tyran Stokes. The additions give Nike yet another recruiting coup and underscore the brand’s commitment to leading the NIL revolution and playing a major role in developing basketball’s future stars.

Oklahoma-bound Aaliyah Chavez is the No. 1 player in the country, according to the consensus of top prep rankings. The nation’s leading returning player finished her prep career with just under 4,800 points and 1,300 rebounds, a prep scoring record that will be nearly impossible to top. Twice a Nike Nationals champion, Chavez will also be part of the 2025 USA Women’s Nike Hoop Summit Team.

Brandon McCoy, who recently moved to powerhouse Sierra Canyon, has earned a number of significant wins already, including titles at the Mamba League Invitational and U19 FIBA World Cup. He also averaged 22 points as part of Nike’s EYBL Peach Jam.

Tyran Stokes, meanwhile, has continued to be a dynamo for Notre Dame High. He’s currently on the USA Basketball Gold team after averaging 21 points per game last season while racking up gold at the U16, U17 and U19 FIBA tournaments.

Aaliyah Chavez, Brandon McCoy, and Tyran Stokes join JuJu Watkins, Dylan Harper and AJ Dybantsa on Nike’s NIL roster. For the brand, the NIL agreements are less sponsorships and more partnerships that further the culture of the game.

adidas Fear of God Athletics Basketball II “Wonder Oxide” Releases October 2025

Jerry Lorenzo’s growing performance line takes a subdued turn with the adidas Fear of God Athletics Basketball II “Wonder Oxide.”

Constructed from mesh-and-synthetic upper materials, this take on the silhouette is treated in a muted rose-finish shade. Complemented with tonal laces and minimal accents, the restrained build is a testament to Lorenzo’s design aesthetic. Details on this release are sparse, with Fear of God branding in the heel and small adidas text across the toe. In that restraint, the product’s understated color and form factor do most of the talking.

Game play isn’t forgotten though. Its sculpted LIGHTSTRIKE midsole provides lightweight cushioning while radial-pattern traction underfoot aids in stability.

Arriving at retail October 17, 2025, the adidas Fear of God Athletics Basketball II “Wonder Oxide” will launch for $180 at adidas.com and select retailers.

Veneda Carter Shows Off Fragment x Nike Book 1 PE

UPDATE 10/3/25: Veneda Carter gives us another look at the fragment x Nike Book 1 “Blue Python” collab. As of now, there is no release date scheduled.

Original Story 12/12/24:
Devin Booker’s “Book Club” sneaker series might unveil an exciting new addition soon. Hiroshi Fujiwara, the creative force behind Fragment Design, has hinted at a potential Fragment x Nike Book 1 collaboration. While Nike has yet to confirm this, sneaker enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the news. If true, this would mark Fragment’s first involvement with the Book 1 and a bold leap into Nike Basketball’s modern silhouettes.

The teased collaboration draws inspiration from the Book 1 “Python” colorway, with unique design enhancements. A vibrant blue leather Swoosh contrasts perfectly against the clean blue-and-white outsole, creating a sleek and dynamic look. Fragment Design’s iconic branding graces the heel and tongue, giving the sneaker a distinct, exclusive appeal.

However, the collaboration’s availability remains a mystery. It’s unclear if this version is a player-exclusive (PE) for Booker or if it will be offered to the public. Traditionally, Fragment Design’s Nike collaborations focus on retro and lifestyle models like the Air Jordan 1 and Dunk High. A partnership involving a contemporary basketball silhouette would mark a significant departure from their usual approach.

Stay connected for more updates on this possible collaboration. Whether a PE or a retail drop, the Fragment x Nike Book 1 could solidify its place as a must-have in the sneaker community, blending sport, style, and innovation seamlessly.

Up There x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 12.1 “Natsukashii” Releases October 2025

UPDATE 10/3/25: Up There and ASICS reunite for their fourth collab with the GEL-KAYANO 12.1 “Natsukashii”. The name comes from a Japanese term describing a warm mix of nostalgia and familiarity. The shoe blends elements from past ASICS models, finished in grey and green with glossy overlays, reflective details, and co-branded touches. The raffle is open now on Up There’s site until October 9th, followed by a global release October 11th via ASICS.com and select retailers.

Original Story 9/24/25:
UP THERE collaborates with ASICS for the second time to create a clean, modern version of the GEL-KAYANO 12.1.

Grey mesh is punctuated with reflective olive patent leather overlays, the result being a more minimalist aesthetic that’s still super wearable.

Branded elements from the collaboration include a backwards “UP THERE” label on the heel, along with vibrant green co-branded insoles. A splash of red is found on the tongue and outsole as well, a detail that offsets the otherwise earthy color palette and plays well with the stability-focused sole. It’s that perfect level of subtlety in the details that sneaker enthusiasts will appreciate.

Although the GEL-KAYANO silhouette is technically derived, this iteration is more of a lifestyle model. The heavy use of green especially mirrors the visual identity of UP THERE, giving the model a more personalized touch.

The UP THERE x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 12.1 will release on October 11, 2025 at ASICS.com and select retailers worldwide.

PHILLLLLTHY Creates Super Limited adidas Superstar “Boro Toe”

Denim is still having its moment in sneaker design, and the latest evidence of that comes from a collaboration between adidas Originals and Brooklyn-based PHILLLLLTHY (Phillip Leyesa). The designer, who has a background in repair-focused aesthetics, debuts on the Superstar with a bright “Boro Toe” treatment.

The duo deconstruct the Superstar’s iconic rubber shell toe and rebuilds it in torn denim, a clear reference to the Japanese boro and sashiko textile arts. Shades of deep indigo continue into the upper and midsole for an overall workwear feel. Cuts of premium leather lining, distressed elements and co-branded tongue labels refine the limited edition design. Sneakerheads know the importance of that attention to detail.

This isn’t Leyesa’s first project for adidas; back in 2022, the Japanese designer worked on the NMD S1. However, the Superstar takes his vision one step further by combining classic sneaker culture with Japanese artisanship. Only 10 pairs were produced, with one being raffled off to the public. Therefore, they are incredibly hard to find today. If you have a pair, this drop can be considered one of the rarest adidas Superstars of all time.

The PHILLLLLTHY x adidas Superstar “Boro Toe” celebrates how repair traditions can spawn new sneaker narratives. Boasting ultra-scarcity and unique handcrafted details, this release will continue to be a grail for years to come.

Extremely limited run of 10 pairs. Raffle closed. So for now, just enjoy the imagery below.

Nike Air Force 1 Low “Black Realtree” Now Available (October 2025)

UPDATE 10/3/25: The “Black Realtree” Air Force 1 Lows are now available on Nike.com.

Original Story 7/14/25:
Nike taps into outdoor culture once again by reviving its Realtree collaboration on the iconic Air Force 1 Low. Dressed in a rugged, canvas upper, this new take features brown-gold Realtree camo overlays that blend naturally against a matte black base.

The shoe’s build is fully textile—canvas everywhere you look, from the toe box to the heel. Earth-toned camo wraps around the Swoosh, eyelets, and back paneling. One of the standout touches is a multicolor pixel-style tongue label, offering contrast against the otherwise natural color scheme. Small star-shaped metal eyelets near the collar add a unique, premium feel.

This isn’t Nike’s first time working with Realtree. Past releases have included models like the Metcon 3, SB Blazer Low, and even the Air Ship. The Air Force 1, however, remains a fan favorite for this print. Back in 2019, a pack of Realtree-clad AF1s in various colors made waves. This upcoming version dials it back with a stealthier look.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Realtree” is set to drop on October 3, 2025, for $120 USD. Sizes will be available at select Nike Sportswear retailers and Nike.com.

Nike Air Force 1 Low Comes With A “Realtree Rattan” Swoosh

UPDATE 10/3/25: The “Realtree” Air Force 1 Lows are now available on Nike.com.

Original Story 9/19/25:
Nike will release another Realtree sneaker that mixes neutral and camo hues this fall.

Soft suede replaces its usual leather upper, and muted rattan and brown tones layer to keep this shoe grounded. Heel panels and the Realtree camo Swoosh bring in rugged texture, and give the sneaker a playful, outdoorsy spirit. The neutral beige base lets those bolder elements pop, while the contrast is familiar yet fresh.

Toe perforations, tonal laces and the branding of Nike Air are a few of the heritage touches that keep the sneaker in line with Bruce Kilgore’s original 1982 design. A sail midsole and gum outsole finish the sneaker, keeping it feeling of-the-season.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Realtree Rattan” drops on October 3, 2025 and will retail for $125. Available at Nike.com and select retailers.

Nike Air Max 95 “Obsidian/Thunder Blue” Is the Dark Storm You’ll Want

The Nike Air Max 95 “Obsidian/Thunder Blue” gives Sergio Lozano’s mid-nineties classic a monochromatic update.

The layered upper features a mix of Deep Obsidian and Thunder Blue hues, accented by Cool Grey details on the Swoosh, lace loops and tongue markings. Mirror-like 3M accents adorn the side panels, for that quintessential Air Max 95 vibe.

Key elements from the original remain, with a mix of mesh, nubuck and synthetic overlays. Meanwhile, the rope lacing system and vibrant gradient side panels are as easy to spot from a distance as ever.

Inside, the blacked-out midsole features visible Air units for reliable comfort, with a waffle-patterned outsole providing the necessary durability.

Nike Air Max 95 Appears in “Smoke Grey/Cannon”

Nike is planning to release the Air Max 95 “Smoke Grey/Cannon” this Fall 2025.

Layered greys contrast teal-green tones on the classic silhouette. Expect to see the dual colors on the lace loops, tongue branding and mini Swooshes. A complementary tint continues through the Big Bubble Air unit for contrast against the black midsole and outsole.

The muted color palette is given personality with splashes of color. This approach maintains a level of neutrality in the design but also brings an updated vibe. Air Max purists will enjoy the contrast.

Retailing at $190 USD, the Nike Air Max 95 “Smoke Grey/Cannon” will be available at Nike.com and select retailers later in Fall 2025.

adidas Teams With Brain Dead For Taekwondo Pack in Contrasting Designs

The Brain Dead x adidas Taekwondo Pack is coming this Fall 2025, with two versions of the silhouette.

The “Silver Metallic” variant shows off a more detailed version of the shoe. It’s a sturdier take that has a smooth upper and lace shroud, as well as a digital-esque chip on top. It’s a detail that adds a modern, almost performance-inspired edge to the shoe, creating an overall futuristic style.

Meanwhile, the “Core Black” version of the Taekwondo cuts back on the more exploratory aspects of the design. It removes the lace cover and chip for a more classic tongue-and-laces approach, and makes the overall look more understated. This, combined with white Three Stripes and a cream sole, lets it focus more on simplicity.

The two pairs of shoes show how Brain Dead can both have fun with the modern side of sneaker design, as well as pay homage to the adidas past. Whether you’re more interested in the avant-garde “Silver Metallic” or the more understated “Core Black” option, both shoes in the Taekwondo Pack give off a very different energy.
