Converse continues its collaborative efforts with up-and-coming London-based designer, Eastwood Danso, during the first day of London Fashion Week Men’s 2020.

After he launched his eponymous brand in 2016, combining streetwear and tailored elements into his design, he now presents his second FW20 collection at London Fashion Week, introducing conceptual takes on the Converse Pro Leather exclusively for the runway.

After first customizing a Chuck 70 execution last year during LFW 2019, Danso collaborated with Converse leveraging the newly re-introduced Pro Leather, a basketball silhouette first introduced in 1976, to communicate his vision via footwear.

Not known as a brand to shy away from making a statement, Eastwood Danso canvased the silhouette quite literally in a technical outerwear fabric, hand-painted designs across the leather upper, and even added a utility outsole to elevate the silhouette, to maximize the classic silhouette’s expression in various ways.

Nike Basketball and Paul George will be launching his fourth signature shoe, the PG 4, to kick off the new year.

According to Foot Locker’s release calendar, the first Nike PG 4 that will debut comes dressed in a Black, White, and Smoke Grey color scheme. No leaked photos have surfaced, but the shoe will come low-cut featuring a mesh constructed upper enclosed by a zipper.

UPDATE: Nike has officially unveiled Paul George’s PG 4 that comes with full-length Air unit.

A semi-transparent, mesh-zippered shroud fastens over the laces — a first in the Paul George line. It’s reminiscent of a classic look, pioneered by the Air Flight ’98, and provides a snug fit, revealing the gill-like speed lacing system underneath. For the PG4, the shroud provides a level of stylistic flexibility — laces can be worn within it or worn externally thanks to two lace holes near the shoe’s collar. Plus, the shroud allows for a bit of color dynamism, says Hardman.

“Paul likes to play with his laces over the shroud. During play, the mesh is a window into the color choices,” the designer says. “It’s when the shoe is unzipped that you can see the range of combinations added by the laces. Between the upper colorways and the lacing colors beneath the mesh, players can make the look their own.”

The Nike PG 4 will officially release in China on January 8th, followed by a US date set for January 24th.

Ahead of 2020, Kanye West and adidas debuted two new models, the Yeezy Boost 380 and the Yeezy Boost 700 V3.

The adidas Yeezy Boost 380 made its debut in an “Alien” colorway that features a new Primeknit pattern on its upper, no lateral side stripe, and a thicker Boost midsole.

Kanye West’s third version of his chunky silhouette, the adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V3, debuted in an “Azael” colorway. Completely redesigned from the V1 and V2 releases. It features an upper composed of monofilament engineered mesh with RPU overlays for structure and durability. The RPU cage has glow-in-the-dark features that provide a unique look and feel. The bootie construction provides a snug fit while the tongue features reflectivity that emits light in darkness. The PU encapsulated EVA midsole provides comfort and durability, and the herringbone rubber outsole offers unique design cues and improved traction.

As a nod to LeBron James’ favorite rapper Jay-Z, Nike Basketball released a special “All Black Everything” Friends & Family edition of the Air Max LeBron 7.

This edition of the Nike LeBron 7 comes dressed in all-Black constructed in a mix of leather, patent leather and canvas replacing the usual Flywire side panels. Finishing off the design are personalized insoles that include several references to Jay-Z’s career and life, as well as a number of his career accomplishments.
