Japanese clothing label WTAPS has collaborated with New Balance to release their very own 992 model.

WTAPS’ edition of the New Balance 992 sports an Olive and Orange color blocking that nods to their signature military DNA. The shoe comes constructed in a mix of premium mesh and suede with “WTAPS” branding on the tongue, heel, and insole. The models signature Absorb midsole completes the design.

The Converse G4 Debuts in May

The Converse G4 revives the brand’s loud, late-’80s basketball aesthetic for the modern positionless player through a dynamic combo of Nike React foam in the heel and Nike Zoom Air in the forefoot.

The two technologies form a natural pairing for heel-to-toe transition. In the G4, the connection supports a cycle that absorbs, stores and transfers energy for movements on both ends of the court, and the responsive process is further supported by the reductive arch sculpting on the shoe’s outsole platform.

The upper, notably in the hi-top, is an extension of its cultural predecessor, the Converse ERX. The thicker collar padding at the ankle helps provide comfort, while giving the shoe its boot-like muscle.

The Nike Air Ship was the real “Banned” Jordans that Michael Jordan wore during the Chicago Bulls rookie training camp in 1984 that the NBA’s memo referenced and prohibited. In 1985, Nike debuted the Air Jordan 1 in the iconic Black/Red “Banned” color blocking.

This offering of the Nike Air Ship “Banned” sports a Black leather base with Red overlays on the eyelets, Swooshes, and heels along with matching colored Nike tongues and rubber outsole. Michael Jordan’s signature on the collar atop a White midsole completes the design.

Designer Jerry Lorenzo debuted his Nike Air Fear of God 1 basketball sneaker during 2018’s holiday season. Since then, the shoe has been released in several color options.

Kicking off 2020, Jerry dropped in the “String” aka “The Question” colorway paying homage to his hero, Allen Iverson. For its marketing, Nike and Jerry recreated some of Iverson’s most iconic and recognizable photos shot by photographer Gary Land.

Following up that release was the “Triple Black” colorway. This edition of the Fear of God 1 features a Blackout base with matching tonal branding and 3M reflective on the toes.

On Christmas Day, Michigan Football revealed their latest exclusive Air Jordan 1 PE that comes with exotic materials.

This offering of the Air Jordan 1 comes dressed in the signature Michigan colors. It features White crackled leather on the sides, Yellow pebbled leather on the toe, Swoosh, and heels with crocodile material covering the overlays and ankle collar. A White midsole atop a Yellow rubber outsole completes the design.

UPDATE 4/25: Prior to today we had seen 4 out of the 6 university Air Jordan 1s issued in 2020. With just 2 pairs remaining to see the light of day, English Sole provides us with a detailed look at Michigan’s entry into the field. Continuing the theme of exotics, this Air Jordan 1 comes draped in a Maize stingray print and accented by a Cream colored cracked leather and Blue imitation crocodile printed suede. One of approximately 300 pairs made, there are currently no plans for any of these college Air Jordan 1s to release.
