StockX investigates what drives the popularity of the Nike Air Max

For over 33 years, Nike Air Max shoes have been some of Nike’s best-selling sneakers. Recent innovations like Vapormax and Air Max React have kept the Air Max line at the forefront of performance footwear, while classic silhouettes like the Air Max 1 and 90 have been given a new life through fresh colorways and collaborations. Yet with all of the different Air Max models that consistently release year after year, it has been unclear which silhouettes are the most valuable on the resale market.

StockX crunched their numbers to find out which Air Max silhouettes are flipping at the highest premiums and why these decade-old silhouettes are still relevant in today’s industry. They discovered that out of all Air Max silhouettes, Air Max 180s have shown the greatest surge in value in the past year. Also, StockX’s data showed that one of last year’s biggest Air Max releases is now more affordable than ever before.

Nike SB will be releasing four colorways of the Dunk Low in 2021 inspired by Supreme’s 2003 Dunk High collaboration.

Rather than the original Orange, Red, and Caroline Blue, these Nike SB Dunk Low styles will come dressed in Hyper Blue, Mean Green, Black, and Barkroot Brown. Each pair will feature Gold stars on the side panels with croc skin overlays.

The Air Jordan 12 was worn by Michael Jordan as his Chicago Bulls claimed their fifth NBA championship.

Released in October 2019, the Air Jordan 12 “Reverse Taxi” flipped the base colors of the original “Taxi” colorway, which was one of the pairs worn by MJ during that championship run.

In 2020, Jordan Brand debut the Air Jordan 12 “Dark Concord” featuring a Black suede upper with Concord Purple accents, OG faux lizard-print mudguards, chrome finished eyelets and a woven label, White branding atop a Black rubber sole.

Sneaker Talk: Nike SB Dunk High “Daniel Shimizu”

Released in October 2004, the Nike SB Dunk High “Daniel Shimizu” takes its name from the Nike SB team rider responsible for designing the shoe, which was inspired by the classic Japanese anime Macross.

This Nike SB Dunk High features a White leather upper paired with Black and Dark Grey overlays. Yellow appears around the collar adding for a nice pop of color, while the tongue tag replaces the traditional Nike SB branding with a skull-and-crossbones emblem.

In celebration of Drake’s 34th birthday, we get a look at two more unreleased Air Jordan 11 “OVO” PE colorways courtesy of English Sole.

One pair is dressed in “White” and the other sports a “Black makeup. The “White” Air Jordan 11 comes constructed in a mix of tumbled and smooth leather, while the “Black” features premium suede with leather in the rear. Both are completed with the OVO owl insignia on the tongues, repeated “OVO” debossed logos covering the patent leather atop a White midsole and aged-styled translucent outsoles.

The New England Patriots will be releasing another colorway of the Nike Air Force 1 Ultraforce during the 20-21 NFL season.

Dressed in a White, University Red, and College Navy color scheme. This Nike Air Force 1 features a White leather base with Navy embroidered Swooshes, laces, and tumbled leather heels. Additional details includes the “We Are” message along the midsole and inner lining nodding to unity.
