Reebok Reveals Zig 3D Storm Hydro “River Rapids” Pack

Reebok’s cut-through fashion in-line vertical have unveiled the next iterations of their new Zig 3D Storm Hydro via a “River Rapids” Pack.

The collection features three water-sport-inspired colorways of the fashion-forward Zig 3D Storm, with each uniquely nodding extreme kayaking through representations of vibrant, high-contrast vessels and natural riverway aesthetics.

Seated atop an amplified Zig Kinetica II outsole, the new Zig 3D Storm Hydro, introduced in SS21, presents a complex upper inspired by water shoes and soccer boots (known for their unique fastening systems) with its innovative ShelterShield Shroud that provides both lace and foot protection. When stretched across the upper to the medial side – securing the wearer’s foot – the shroud completes a large Vector logo nodding to the bold overbranding commonly found on soccer boots. The sneaker also features a Speed Lace lacing system with a toe hook and lace lock and a large reflective RF welding across lateral side.

Originally released in 2004 and designed by Tate Kuerbis, the Air Jordan 19 was modeled after a poisonous African snake, and was a style-forward, performance-crafted shoe. Some of the key details included a Tech-Flex upper with Zoom Air cushioning.

Last released in 2019, former Jordan Brand NRG footwear designer Frank Cooker recently revealed a never-before-seen colorway of the Air Jordan 19 that did not make it past its sample stages. Dressed in a color palette similar to the Viotech Dunks, this sample comes constructed with suede materials to give it a premium aesthetic.

Converse and Alexis Sablone Celebrate Pride With Limited Release Jack Purcell

Following the unveiling of the brand’s 2021 Pride collection and annual LGBTQIA+ youth partners, Converse continues to amplify the voices of the LGBTQIA+ community with a sneaker designed in collaboration with barrier breaking skateboarder and multi-talented creative, Alexis Sablone.

The model of choice the Converse Jack Purcell, which is her favorite sneaker to skate in. The silhouette’s White, rubber-backed leather is embossed with an all-over Lambda pattern as a message of solidarity. Sablone’s reference to Lambda is a direct nod to the 1970s when the LGBTQIA+ community used the symbol to signal their queerness.

Contrasting the White upper is a woven heel tab with the “More Color, More Pride” flag, first concepted by social justice advocate Amber Hikes, to include Black and Brown stripes. These pops of color continue on the tongue and sockliner: a transgender symbol is embroidered on the tongue against a Yellow edge glow as a reminder from Sablone that Pride is inclusive of gender identity as much as it is about sexuality while the sockliner reads “Proud” printed on a light blue lining.
