Brazilian label PACE continues to build its global design language with ASICS, this time shifting focus to the GEL-Kayano 12.1. Founded by Felipe Matayoshi, the São Paulo-based brand has long explored the intersection of Brazilian energy and Japanese precision — a dual heritage that naturally aligns with ASICS’ roots.

The partnership first took shape in 2023 with a reworked GEL-QUANTUM 360 VII. Now, the duo returns with a project that feels more refined and forward-thinking. The PACE x ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 leans into elevated detailing rather than loud color blocking. A clean white and black foundation sets the tone, allowing texture to carry the story.

Layered synthetics form the upper, combining perforated panels with grid-like underlays. Overlays introduce a croc-inspired finish that adds dimension without overwhelming the silhouette. Glossy black accents sharpen the ASICS side stripes, while embossed PACE and ASICS branding alternates between the lateral and medial sides for subtle contrast. A hit of red at the heel and midfoot shank provides a final pop, breaking up the monochrome palette with intention.

The result is a sneaker that feels premium yet restrained — future-focused without abandoning the performance DNA that defines the Kayano line.
