The Nike Zoom Hyperflight is officially making its return in Spring 2026, over two decades after its original debut. First launched in 2001, the Hyperflight became known for its futuristic molded upper and was part of Nike’s innovative Alpha Project line.
Designed by Eric Avar, the sneaker was created for fast-paced guards, featuring a full-length Zoom Air unit for responsive cushioning. It also offered a lightweight, glove-like fit that supported agile play. The updated 2026 version remains faithful to the original design with subtle performance enhancements.
Two colorways are currently expected for launch. The first is a glossy black finish with a white Swoosh, staying true to the original aesthetic. The second is a vibrant new “Varsity Purple” edition, adding a modern option to the lineup.
Nike Hyperflight 2026 Release Date
The Nike Zoom Hyperflight will begin releasing during Spring 2026 through select retailers and Nike.com. The retail price is set at $145 USD and the sneaker will be available in men’s sizing.
This return marks an important moment for fans of early 2000s basketball footwear. Combining heritage style with updated performance, the Zoom Hyperflight 2026 aims to deliver on both nostalgia and function.
