The Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4 OT “Black” is officially set to return in April 2026, bringing back one of Kobe Bryant’s most respected pre-signature sneakers. First released in 2004, the model was designed by Eric Avar, who blended ideas from the Air Flight Huarache and Air Force 1. Over time, the 2K4 became one of the most important performance basketball shoes of its era, helping shape the direction of many modern hoops designs.

This “Black” pair carries extra meaning in Kobe’s footwear history. He wore the colorway early in the 2004-05 NBA season, including the November 12, 2004 game when he threw down his memorable dunk over rookie Dwight Howard. That moment gave the shoe a lasting place in basketball culture. Kobe also wore the Huarache 2K4 in several other colorways, including the “All-Star” edition seen during the 2004 NBA All-Star Game, which returned back in February 2026.

This 2026 retro stays close to the original look. The design keeps its clean and understated feel, choosing premium materials over loud color blocking. The upper combines leather and suede overlays with a neoprene bootie for a secure fit. A TPU heel counter adds stability, while the Phylon midsole works with Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot and heel to deliver the same responsive setup that made the shoe a classic on the court.
