Back in 2019, Nike revealed two exclusive “Alphabet Soup” Zoom Freak 1 PE colorways as a nod to Giannis’s difficult-to-say name, which lead to an “Alphabet Soup” nickname in his childhood. For 2021, Nike will finally be releasing an “Alphabet Soup” Zoom Freak 2 colorway during the month of January.

Dressed in a Desert Sand, Sail, Camellia, and Gym Red color scheme. This Nike Zoom Freak 2 features a Sand upper with Orange laces, Red leather lateral Swoosh, and Yellow heel tabs. Highlighting the shoe are colorful letters covering the tongue and heels from the Greek Freak’s long and often misspelled name. A Sand midsole atop a Sail rubber outsole completes the design.

“The Greek Freak” is Giannis’ best-known nickname—but it’s not his only moniker. In China, he’s called ‘Letter Bro’ because there are so many letters in his last name. The Zoom Freak 2 “Letter Bro” riffs on his hard-to-spell last name with an alphabetic jumble printed along the heel, collar and tongue. The style’s wide range of colors include neutral sail and warm desert sand, with hits of Camellia Blue, Dark Sulfur Yellow and Dark Red.
