The Nike Vomero Premium NYC Marathon PEs honor New York Marathon elite Eliud Kipchoge and Sifan Hassan as two of the best marathoners of all time and celebrate their connection with the city and to the New York running scene. Designed with inspiration from the vibe of the city and the Knicks’ home color blue and orange, the NYC Marathon Vomero Premiums bring together street style and the grind of marathon training.
These unique and one-of-one Nike Vomero Premiums highlight the brand’s new ZoomX cushioning and two Zoom Air units. They also offer a 55 mm stack height. All of this technology was developed from years of elite racing in Nike’s performance heritage. Details like these are exactly what sneaker enthusiasts care about. These sneakers balance clean performance design with art-inspired street style.
In a nod to the hard-hustle New York City streets, Nike collaborated with Public School NYC and An Only Child to create custom black leather jackets for both Kipchoge and Hassan. For Kipchoge, it includes a custom patch on the inside with his marathon world record time of 1:59:40. For Hassan, embroidered Dutch and Ethiopian flags adorn the back of her jacket, a touching ode to her bicultural roots.
Kipchoge and Hassan are slated to wear the custom Nike gear when they make an appearance at the New York Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls game on November 2nd at Madison Square Garden.
