Nike ST Charge “Black/Bright Crimson” Gets A Street Tough Build

Published on

Nike made the S.T. Charge for outdoor courts, where concrete can wear down a basketball shoe fast. Developed through the brand’s “Street Tough” initiative, the model is tied to China’s streetball culture rather than the usual indoor game.

The “Black/Bright Crimson” colorway uses a mostly black upper with red accents worked into the design. Its standout feature is MonSTer Skin, a rugged outer layer that reinforces the areas likely to take the most damage. The texture gives the shoe a tougher look, but it is there for a reason.

Nike took panels that are reinforced, along with a beefier construction to differentiate the S.T. Charge from Nike’s typical indoor basketball shoes. While durability is the main focus of this shoe, traction, support and stability for daily play is still important.

The Nike S.T. Charge “Black/Bright Crimson” is expected to remain an Asia-exclusive release for now. Nike has not confirmed a launch date. Unless that changes, buyers elsewhere will likely need to look through overseas retailers.
