After making its debut during the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Nike SB PS8 has spent most of the past two years outside the spotlight. Its next colorway reaches back much further, borrowing the familiar Cobblestone and Monarch palette associated with Tinker Hatfield’s Nike Air Safari from 1987.
Nike used Safari graphics across several Olympic releases in 2024, including an earlier PS8 that came close to this same look. The new pair sharpens the connection with a black Swoosh, speckled Safari-style panels, and black paint running along the top edge of the midsole. Those darker details give the shoe a closer resemblance to the original Air Safari.
With a similar technical build, it leaves the PS8’s skate-centric construction hidden under the retro looking color scheme. Not many people have gravitated towards this model since its debut at the Olympics, so this familiar theme allows for an easier transition for veteran Nike consumers.
The Nike SB PS8 “Safari” is available now through Nike.com and select retailers for $135.
