Wheat-colored sneakers usually get compared to Timberland boots, but this pair has a different reference point. Tom Penny made the all-wheat éS Accel one of his most recognizable looks, wearing the colorway during a period when his skating and style were being copied everywhere.
Paul Rodriguez has never hidden Penny’s influence on him. He also rode for éS early in his career, which made the brown P-Rod 1 colorway feel right at home when his first Nike SB signature shoe arrived. Now that Nike SB is bringing the model back, that same idea shows up again with an even more tonal wheat look.
The Nike SB Paul Rodriguez Zoom Air Low “Light British Tan” uses soft brown suede across most of the upper and continues the shade onto the midsole. Mesh on the Swoosh, tongue, and sockliner keeps everything in the same general color range. The heel switches things up slightly with a repeating pattern, while the visible Zoom Air unit adds the only real break in the otherwise uniform setup.
