Historic Berkeley’s 510 skateshop teamed up with long time friend of the store, SF skater and graphic artist, Benny Gold, to create the latest Support Your Local release from Nike SB. This artful collaboration cleverly spans the Bay as Gold’s thoughtful line work puts a smart local spin on a classic concealment pattern.
Drawing from the famous Pacific cloud-inversion that surges in past the Golden Gate, his signature marine-layer motif wraps the 510 Dunk from toe-box to heel panel. This fog-inspired heavy-duty canvas upper is nestled in a wistful midsole, reminiscent of sunlight glimmering in ocean spray, while the sleek gum rubber outsole streamlines the profile and anchors us to the streets. A premium vintage suede swoosh adds structure to Gold’s ephemeral swirl and the sunset gold laces give a respectful nod to the world’s most iconic suspension cables.
Look for the Nike SB Dunk High Premium “510” to officially launch at select Nike SB retailers on March 1st, 2014.
