Nike PG 1 Paul George Signature Shoe

Indiana Pacers’ superstar, Paul George will be receiving his first signature shoe from Nike Basketball, the Nike PG 1 Paul George.

It’s rumored that Paul George’s signature shoe will have an alternate nickname called the “Nike The Bait 1.”

The Nike PG 1 features a neoprene slip-on upper that includes a lockdown support with the midfoot strap. They also include his “PG3” logo on the tongue. One of the first pairs to release will come dressed in the Pacers-themed colors of Obsidian, White, and University Gold.

Check out the first preview of the Nike PG 1 below and look for them to debut early September 2016 at select Nike Basketball retail stores. The retail price tag is set at $110 USD.

They seem decent, maybe something like the HyperRev 2016 with a good concept, good value but some little quirks/shortcomings and not the strongest materials. I wish they would be a little more ambitious with the first signature shoe in a line. Going back to the Air Zoom Generation (LeBron), they have been overly conservative. Those, the Kobe 1, Kyrie 1, etc have all been scaled down and un-ambitious. The KD was different (price point/player’s preference) but generally speaking they haven’t had the sort of go-for-broke debuts they did in the days of the Penny 1, Pippen 1, Air Zoom GP, etc.
