Nike is bringing the Kobe AD back for another run, and the “Laser Orange” pair gives the model a completely new look instead of pulling from an older colorway. The shoe still has the same low-cut shape people remember from 2016, but the Protro version gets a much newer setup underfoot.
A full-length React carrier handles the base of the cushioning, with ZoomX in the forefoot and Zoom Air in the heel. Most of that work stays hidden once the shoe is on foot, so visually, this still looks very close to the Kobe AD people already know.
The colorway is where this pair changes things up. Bright orange covers nearly the entire upper, including the laces and tongue, while a deeper red-orange Swoosh runs along the sides. That darker shade continues through the midsole and wraps around the heel, where the Kobe logo is molded into the back. The photos also show “Zoom” branding pressed into the midsole near the heel.
There are a few smaller details that help break up all the orange. The collar lining uses a darker tone, Kobe’s signature is stitched near the back, and the outsole keeps the same warm color family instead of adding another contrast color.
Unlike the returning “Purple Stardust,” this one is a brand-new colorway for the Kobe AD line.
