Nike Basketball is set to launch Kobe Bryant’s next signature shoe, which will be a completely new design from Black Mamba’s previous line.

Instead of keeping its traditional low-top build, this new design will come in a high cut design. Previewed during a Nike press event in China, the shoe features a semi-translucent mesh upper, large Swoosh branding on the side panels, Kobe logo on the tongue, an ankle strap atop an icy cup sole. But the main feature of the shoe is its FastFit lacing system that first debuted on the Air Jordan 33 last year.

Nike Kobe AD NXT FastFit Release Date

Look for the Nike Kobe AD NXT FastFit to release on August 24th at select retailers and Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $200 USD.

UPDATE: Nike Basketball officially unveils the Kobe AD NXT, which is a shoe that’s all about speed while bringing together Nike FastFit, QuadFit, and REACT to answer Kobe Bryant’s desire to get athletes lower than ever to the ground, without sacrificing comfort, and allow for greater court control. “It is our most technologically advanced basketball shoe we’ve done in the KOBE line, due to the combination of complex components,” says Ross Klein, Senior Creative Director for Nike Basketball Footwear.
