Originally released in 2013, the Nike Kobe 8 “Mine Grey” is set for a return in Fall 2027. This time around, the colorway is releasing in Protro form. The grey snakeskin pattern is coming back too, along with the purple, black, and red details from the original.
The Kobe 8 has actually been around since 2012, when Eric Avar designed it for Kobe Bryant. It was one of those lightweight, low-top basketball shoes Kobe was known for wearing instead of traditional high-tops. The “Mine Grey” version came along in 2013, about a year after the model first launched.
Most of the upper is grey, with a snake-like pattern covering the material and black on the inside panels. There’s also a purple midsole with red speckles across it, plus more red on the heel counter and Kobe branding on the tongue.
