Sotheby’s Auctions Kobe Bryant’s 30K-Point Nike Kobe 7

On December 5, 2012, Kobe Bryant made history by becoming the youngest player to reach 30,000 career points. At just 34 years and 104 days old, he surpassed Wilt Chamberlain’s record, cementing his place among NBA legends like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, and Michael Jordan—as one of only five players to reach this milestone.

Since then, Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant have also reached 30,000 points. Bryant remains the second-youngest to achieve this milestone, with only LeBron James ahead of him.

The milestone came in a game against the New Orleans Hornets, the very team that drafted Bryant in 1996 before trading him to the Lakers. Needing only 13 points to reach the mark, he achieved it late in the second quarter with a smooth right-handed floater in the lane. The Lakers secured a dominant 103-87 victory, with Bryant finishing the night with 29 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.

Now, the game-worn and signed Nike Kobe 7 PE sneakers from that legendary night are up for auction at Sotheby’s.

Inscribed with “30K 12-5-12” and Kobe’s signature, the sneakers are expected to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000. The auction lot also includes a PSA 9 MINT-graded game ticket, a program, and a DVD of the historic game.

Basketball fans and collectors can view the Nike Kobe 7 30K-Point Game PE at Sotheby’s New York on March 21, 2025 before the bidding concludes on March 25th. This auction offers a rare opportunity to own a piece of NBA history tied to one of the game’s greatest icons.
