Kobe X Silk

The Nike Kobe 10 “Silk Road” has been linked to the Silk Road between East and West for inspiration, and features a mix of different cultures, to show the contribution to the world around Kobe basketball – just like the Kobe 9 “Silk Road” colorway.

Spending his childhood years in Italy, Kobe Bryant enjoyed traveling throughout Greater China as an adult. His connections to both the European and Asian continents led Nike designers to think about the legendary Silk Road, the inspiration for the new Kobe 10 “Silk” shoe.

The “Silk Road” edition of the Nike Kobe 10 is dressed in a mixture of Merlot, Villain Red, Total Orange and Metallic Gold color scheme. The shoe features a Total Orange open-weave textile upper that is inspired by the pattern and strength of sharkskin. Merlot is found on the tongue, back heel and throughout the inner graphic tongue, while Villain Red is displayed on the left back heel. A Metallic Gold Nike Swoosh hits the side panels, while sitting atop a speckled Total Orange sole.

Mighty nice, I’d get this for a ball shoe. If you were on fire during a game, these would make you look Gxdly.

not for 180.. people dont stand for anything now a days.. Nike is not even trying anymore.. cant blame them because they know people are going to buy this trash.. looks like they just took a junked model of a airmax shoe and stamp a Kobe signature on it .

I like the 6th picture. I saw a similar color pattern regarding these shoes on Nike’s website. However, seeing the shoes next to something real seems to be better. I like the orange color and the burgundy association is nice. The story behind the Nike Kobe 10 Silk is also interesting as shown in this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjPluoLMS20
However, I wonder if they are not heavy and how they would be reviewed as far as the support.
