The Nike KD 15 Celebrates 50 Years of Hip-Hop

Published on

Back in August 1973 hip-hop was born. It was DJ Kool Herc who formally established the genre at his sister’s graduation party in the Bronx while mixing tracks. Herc would provide spoken words over the tracks that later evolved into what rap is today. In 2023, Nike will be celebrating 50 Years of Hip-Hop with special edition releases.

One of those includes the Nike KD 15, which is fitting as Kevin Durant is a huge fan of music. He even expressed himself with a Tupac tattoo on his left leg. The shoe arrives in a Black, Smoke Grey, and Beach color blocking. Some of the key details includes “50 Years of Hip-Hop” tongue labels, “Easy Money” braiding on the leather heel pull tabs and stamped onto the insoles. A Golden Metallic microphone hangtag completes the theme.

Check out the photos below, and look for the Nike KD 15 “50 Years of Hip-Hop” to release on June 1st at select Nike Basketball retailers and Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $150 USD.
