Nike caused a stir at NBA All-Star Weekend 2025 when they debuted the Nike GT Future – a new basketball silhouette that had a clear Foamposite influence and was marketed for the future generation of ballplayers. Roughly a month later, long time Nike Basketball affiliate Wale was spotted wearing an unreleased blue pair while promoting his latest single, elevating the hype to even greater heights.

The GT Future stands out with its molded, seamless upper, sharp futuristic lines, and performance-first build. Nike blends inspiration from past basketball icons like the Foamposite and Hyperflight through a one-piece, no-sew upper, while sculpted striations give the shoe a fast, modern edge. Reflective 3M hits add visibility under light, and Wale’s pair even featured LED Swooshes — a special touch that won’t appear on retail versions. Under the hood, the cushioning is tuned for explosive movement and all-game comfort, creating a design that pulls from Nike’s heritage while pushing its innovation forward.

Multiple colorways are expected once the GT Future officially rolls out, positioning the silhouette as a major part of Nike’s basketball lineup heading into 2026.
