Nike Giannis Freak 8 “Star Blue” Features a Blue Gradient Finish

Published on

Giannis Antetokounmpo is getting ready for the 2026-27 NBA season with the Miami Heat, where he’ll play alongside Bam Adebayo. Nike is continuing to roll out colorways of his latest signature basketball shoe, including the Nike Giannis Freak 8 “Star Blue,” expected to arrive during Fall/Winter 2026.

The shoe features a dark blue upper paired with a sculpted midsole that fades into lighter shades of blue. The gradient has an ocean-like appearance, although there hasn’t been an official theme tied to the colorway. Yellow accents show up on the tongue and lateral Swoosh logos, breaking up the darker blue across the upper.

The Giannis Freak 8 now features full-length ReactX foam instead of the Cushlon 3.0 used in the previous model. Nike also went with a curved herringbone pattern on the outsole to help with traction during quick cuts and changes of direction. Both updates focus on the movements Giannis makes throughout a game.

The “Star Blue” uses the same construction as the other Freak 8 releases, with the blue gradient and yellow branding separating it from earlier colorways. It also arrives as Antetokounmpo prepares to start a new chapter of his career in Miami.

The Nike Giannis Freak 8 “Star Blue” is expected to release during Fall 2026 at Nike.com and select retailers. The retail price is $115.
