When the Nike Cortez first debuted back in 1972, it was a sneaker gem, in fact it was the first official track shoe, designed by an Olympic track coach, Bill Bowerman. Going into the design, Bill made sure it would be most comfortable running shoe to help with long distances and rough terrain. Decades later, his classic runner still continues to release and make track distance runners happy.

But in the modern times, the shoe has transformed into a more of a lifestyle shoe. We now introduce the newest Nike Cortez Classic LX Velvet Pack that includes a Deep Purple and Black colorways both built with plush velvet uppers atop a clean White rubber sole.

Set to release on May 30th in women’s sizing, you’ll be able to find the Nike Cortez Classic LX Velvet Pack at select Nike Sportswear retailers.
