The Nike Air Zoom Generation “LA All-Star” has been sitting in the vault for more than two decades, but that could finally change in 2027. The pair was originally made for LeBron James way back in 2004, when All-Star Weekend took over Los Angeles during his rookie season.
LeBron didn’t make the All-Star Game that year, which meant the PE never really got its chance to be seen on court. Still, the shoe stuck around as one of those early LeBron colorways collectors remembered.
Nike actually went back to the idea years later. When All-Star Weekend returned to Los Angeles in 2018, another special Air Zoom Generation was made for LeBron in white, blue, and red. That pair had an “LA” logo on the heel along with “2018” stitched into the inner lining.
The design on the original 2004 pair is pretty simple. White leather makes up most of the upper, while blue takes over the toe, eyelets, and Swoosh. Red stitching around the Swoosh adds some contrast, but the shoe still keeps the clean look of the original Air Zoom Generation.
Another detail comes near the ankle, where a red and blue Nike LA logo points back to the 2004 All-Star Weekend connection. That branding is probably the easiest way to separate this pair from some of the other early Air Zoom Generation colorways.
There’s also an interesting coincidence with LeBron now playing in Philadelphia. The red, white, and blue colors fit right in with the 76ers, even though this shoe was designed long before his move there.
