The Nike Air Trainer Medicine Ball Collection celebrates the boundary pushers and training’s past. This Nike Air Trainer Medicine Ball Collection consists of the Nike Air Trainer 3 and the Nike Air Trainer Huarache silhouettes. Look for this collection to become available on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at select Nike Sportswear retailers.
Originally introduced in 1988, the Nike Air Trainer III is set for a return alongside another pioneering multi-use sneaker, the Nike Air Trainer Huarache.
Birthed from Tinker Hatfield’s idea of needing just one sneaker for all physical activities at the gym, each style dons tones inspired by traditional medicine balls of the past. Premium Ginger leather featured on both silhouettes ties back to the worn-in patina of leather medicine balls after years of use.
The Nike Air Trainer III pushed boundaries with a TPU forefoot strap, heel cage and visible Nike Air cushioning geared for all kinds of strenuous activities and sports. Their arrival came at a point when staying active was at an all time high and health clubs became the place to be. Athletes were dedicated to leading a healthy lifestyle, filling their workouts with activities that once required multiple pairs of sneakers.
The Nike Air Trainer Huarache also helped break down boundaries in the world of cross training with its ‘less is more’ inspired design. Equipped with a neoprene bootie, a leather exoskeleton and an iconic midfoot strap, the Nike Air Trainer Huarache paved the way for a countless amount of similar multi-purpose styles in the years following.
