Nike will continue to retro the Air Max Penny 1 into 2023, with a special colorway inspired by Penny Hardaway’s Lester Middle School in Memphis, according to Brendan Dunne of Complex.
In addition to playing there, Hardaway coached the Lester Lions basketball team in the 2010s before taking the Memphis job.
While this Nike Air Max Penny 1 draws inspiration from the school’s colors, it will not be an actual collaboration with the school. The shoe looks similar to the OG “Black/Royal” release, with the school’s Yellow taking place of Orlando’s Royal Blue.
Nike Air Max Penny 1 Lester Middle School Release Date
Look for the Nike Air Max Penny 1 “Lester Middle School” to release on August 8th at select retailers and Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $180 USD.
