Remember the Nike Air Max Nomo from back in the day? Well, the “Varsity Red” colorway is coming back in Fall 2027. This was Hideo Nomo’s old baseball shoe from when he played for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The model first came out in 1996, but this particular red and black pair last dropped in 2011.
The Air Max NM first came out in 1996 and was made for Nomo during his time in Major League Baseball. The shoe is also known as the Air Max Nomo, with “NM” standing for “Nomo Max.” The Varsity Red version originally dropped in 2011, and now Nike is bringing it back more than 15 years later.
The shoe comes in Varsity Red, Black, White, and Varsity Maize. Based on the previous release, most of the upper is covered in red nubuck, with black mesh panels and that shark-tooth design along the sides. White Swoosh logos break up the red and black, while yellow details sit around the visible Air unit. There’s also baseball branding on the tongue, a baseball graphic in the outsole window, and a small jewel-style Swoosh.
